SonSon
is an arcade video game by Capcom released in July 1984. It is loosely based on the Chinese novel ''Journey to the West''. The player assumes the role of a monkey boy (who is patterned after Sun Wukong from the story) and fights their way from one side to another, eventually reaching the statue of Buddha. One battles bats, rats, and mad bombers along the way with his fighting rod that shoots balls of fire. The game was ported from the arcade to the Family Computer in Japan. A sequel, titled ''SonSon II'', heavily based on ''Black Tiger'', was released for the PC Engine, published by NEC Avenue. According to composer Manami Matsumae, the PC Engine title was made by Capcom, one of the few games that they developed for the console themselves. Manami Matsumae
is a Japanese video game music composer. She previously worked for Capcom in the 1980s, writing music for games such as ''Dynasty Wars'', ''Mercs'', ''Magic Sword'', and the original ''Mega Man''. Career She previously worked for Capcom, where she worked on titles such as '' SonSon II'', ''Dynasty Wars'', ''U.N. Squadron'', ''Mercs'', ''Magic Sword'', and ''Carrier Air Wing''. She is best known, however, for composing the music for the original ''Mega Man'', including its iconic "Game Start" jingle. is a compilation of arcade games released by Capcom for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox on September 27, 2005 in North America and in 2006 in Japan. It was developed by Digital Eclipse Software (then Backbone Entertainment), Sensory Sweep, and its Japanese developer Klein Computer Entertainment. A second volume, ''Capcom Classics Collection Vol. 2'', was released on November 24, 2006 in North America, for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The second volume as well as the Xbox version of the first volume were not released in Japan. Two handheld compilations, ''Capcom Classics Collection Remixed'' (not released in Japan) and ''Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded'' (''Capcom Classics Collection'' in Japan) were released on March 22 and October 24, 2006 respectively on the PlayStation Portable. NEC Avenue
was a Japanese music and video game publisher. History NEC Avenue was founded in 1987 as a record label within NEC. NEC Avenue eventually got involved with video games, and secured licenses to produce console versions of arcade titles from Sega and Taito. Toshio Tabeta, the employee responsible for the Sega deal, would later learn that the Sega employee that gave NEC Avenue permission to make arcade ports was scolded. Video game records represented about 10% of NEC Avenue's business in 1994. In October 1995, its game division was spun-off into a new NEC subsidiary named Interchannel, NEC Interchannel. NEC Interchannel took over NEC Avenue's music and game operations in October 1997, then acquired its music subsidiary, , in March 1998. ''Black Tiger'', known in Japan as , is a hack-and-slash platform game released for arcades by Capcom in 1987. Plot The land is under the cruel control of three evil demonic dragons, who descended on a kingdom to bring darkness and destruction. From the ruins emerged a barbarian hero, who seeks to slay the dragons and restore the kingdom to its former glory. Gameplay The game is presented in a side-scrolling format, with eight-way scrolling (like ''Bionic Commando''). Capcom Generations
is a series of five video game compilations produced by Capcom for PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Each volume contains three or four games from a particular series or game genre and were ported directly from their original arcade versions (with the exception of '' Super Ghouls'n Ghosts'', which was originally a Super NES game). Each disc also contains a "collection mode" featuring history, tips, artwork, character profiles, arranged music (which can be enabled on the game themselves as well) and other unlockable contents for each game.
