Somewhere Down The Road (Amy Grant Album)
''Somewhere Down the Road'' is the seventeenth studio album by Christian music and pop music singer-songwriter Amy Grant, released in 2010. It is a unique album featuring eight new songs, a new recording of the song "Arms of Love", from her 1982 album '' Age to Age'', and rounded out with three of Grant's previously released story-songs. The album title is taken from the title track, "Somewhere Down the Road" also a promotional single from Grant's 1997 album '' Behind the Eyes''. The song was originally also featured on the first and only commercial single from ''Behind the Eyes'', " Takes a Little Time". The painting featured on the cover of the album includes a painting by Grant, with the inscription Somewhere Down the Road. Grant gave the original painting as a gift to her friend and publicist Jennifer Cooke. Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She began in contemporary Christian music (CCM) before crossing over to pop music in the 1980s and 1990s. Gary Winther Chapman (born August 19, 1957) is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter and former television talk show host. Early life and music career Born in Waurika, Oklahoma, Chapman grew up in De Leon, Texas, the son of an Assemblies of God pastor, the Rev. Terry W. Chapman, who ministered for 56 years before his death in 2009. Chapman performed in bands throughout high school and college. "Turn! Turn! Turn!", or "Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)", is a song written by Pete Seeger in the late 1950s and first recorded in 1959. The lyrics – except for the title, which is repeated throughout the song, and the final two lines – consist of the first eight verses of the third chapter of the biblical Book of Ecclesiastes. The song was originally released in 1962 as "To Everything There Is a Season" on folk group the Limeliters' album ''Folk Matinee'', and then some months later on Seeger's own ''The Bitter and the Sweet''. The song became an international hit in late 1965 when it was adapted by the American folk rock group the Byrds. Peter Seeger (May 3, 1919 – January 27, 2014) was an American folk singer and social activist. A fixture on nationwide radio in the 1940s, Seeger also had a string of hit records during the early 1950s as a member of the Weavers, notably their recording of Lead Belly's "Goodnight, Irene", which topped the charts for 13 weeks in 1950. Members of the Weavers were blacklisted during the McCarthy Era. "Better Than a Hallelujah" is a digital MP3 single released in 2010 (see 2010 in music) to promote Amy Grant's album '' Somewhere Down the Road'', which was also released in 2010. The single for "Better Than a Hallelujah" was released to radio for airplay and additionally released commercially as a digital MP3, as the same version to appear on the album.
