David Dallas
David Keith Dallas (born 28 August 1982) is a hip hop artist from New Zealand of Samoan and European descent. Early career Dallas began his rapping career under the name Con Psy as a part of the duo Frontline, a producer and MC group along with producer Nick Maclaren. In 2003 he appeared in Scribe's popular single, ''Not Many – The Remix!''. Frontline released their official debut album 'Borrowed Time', in October 2005. The album won the award for 'Best Urban Album' at the 2006 New Zealand Music Awards. P-Money
Peter Wadams, better known by his stage name P-Money, is a New Zealand hip-hop DJ and producer. One of his best-known works is "Everything", featuring New Zealand R&B singer Vince Harder, which reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart for three weeks in 2008; however, he is probably best known for his recordings with Scribe, including the 2003 smash hit "Not Many". Peter Wadams is also credited as co-writer and producer on the 2017 hit " Call on Me" by Australian singer Starley. Frontline (band)
Frontline are a New Zealand hip hop music group formed in 2001. History Frontline is a two-man hip hop team: Samoan-European MC David Dallas (also known as Con Psy) and producer and DJ Nick Maclaren DJ 41:30. Con Psy won the 2003 Auckland MC Battle for Supremacy, and 41 has won the 2000 Auckland ITF Championships. After meeting in 2001 in Auckland, the pair formed some tracks together and released a mixtape, ''What You Expect?''. During this time Maclaren produced tracks for artists including the Deceptikonz and Mareko, while Dallas completed a BSc in computing. Without any formal broadcasting or distribution, the mixtape sold over 1000 copies. The duo hooked up with premier New Zealand DJ P Money (also known as Peter Wadams). ''Borrowed Time'' is the first studio album by New Zealand hip hop duo Frontline ( David "Con Psy" Dallas and Nick "41" McLaren). It was released on 31 October 2005 in New Zealand. New Zealand Music Award For Best Urban/Hip Hop Album
Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Soul/RnB Artist are two Aotearoa Music Awards that honour New Zealand music artists for outstanding recordings of the genres of hip hop, and soul or R&B. The award was first awarded in 2002 as Best R&B/Hip Hop Album, and in 2003 it was called Best Urban Album. In 2004 it moved to Best Urban/Hip Hop Album. In 2017 the award was split into two separate awards: Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Soul/RnB Artist. The entry criteria were also changed to require either an album or a minimum of five single releases in the eligibility period. Controversy In 2016, the award was presented to Aaradhna her album ''Brown Girl''. She refused to accept the award, saying she felt the inclusion of both R&B music and hip hop in the same "urban" category was due to racial stereotyping and that she felt as a pop/R&B artist, she shouldn't be in the same category as hip hop acts. 2010 New Zealand Music Awards
The 2010 New Zealand Music Awards was the 45th holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical artists based in or originating from New Zealand. Finalists for the three technical awards were announced on 16 August 2010 with winners announced on 1 September, the date on which finalists for 16 'non-technical' categories were revealed. The Taite Music Prize is an annual New Zealand music award event. It features the same-named prize awarded for the best album from New Zealand. The prize is named after respected New Zealand music journalist and broadcaster Dylan Taite, who died in 2003. David Puniani is a New Zealand hip-hop performer of Tongan descent from South Auckland, best known as a member of the hip hop group Deceptikonz.
