Somaliland Football Association
The Somaliland Football Association (SFA; so, Xidhiidhka Kubadda Cagta Somaliland, ar, صوماليلاند اتحاد كرة القدم ) is the governing body of association football, football in Somaliland. The association was established in 2011 The current Chairman and General Secretary is Mohamed Abdi Dixood and Samatar Mohamed Abdillahi respectively. Somaliland became a member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) in 2015 and participated in the 2016 CONIFA World Football Cup held in Abkhazia. Somaliland was announced the as the host of the 2020 edition of the tournament in 2019, but this was later revoked after concerns regarding their ability to fund the tournament. Somaliland would later leave the organisation and is no longer affiliated with any governing body. Association Football

The Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) is the international governing body for association football teams that are not affiliated with FIFA. Competitions Women's football All members of CONIFA are encouraged to invest in women's football in their communities, and to create female national selections to play and compete against other CONIFA members. CONIFA's first ever official women's football match took place on 10 November 2018 in Northern Cyprus, with Sápmi ladies beating their Northern Cypriot hosts 4–0 in the Women's Friendship Cup. Hargeisa
Hargeisa (; so, Hargeysa, ar, هرجيسا) is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Somaliland. It is located in the Maroodi Jeex region of the Horn of Africa. It succeeded Burco as the capital of the British Somaliland Protectorate in 1941. Hargeisa is the largest city in Somaliland, and also served as the capital of the Isaaq Sultanate during the mid-to-late 19th century. Hargeisa was founded as a watering and trading stop between the coast and the interior by the Isaaq Sultanate. 2016 CONIFA World Football Cup
The 2016 ConIFA World Football Cup was the second edition of the ConIFA World Football Cup, an international football tournament for states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions unaffiliated with FIFA organised by ConIFA. The tournament was hosted by the Football Federation of Abkhazia, with the Abkhazia team becoming the first host nation to win the tournament. Host selection Following the 2015 ConIFA European Football Cup, in which the teams from Abkhazia and South Ossetia were refused visas by the Hungarian government, ConIFA announced that they had delivered strong objections to what they saw as political interference.
