Soi Cowboy (film)
''Soi Cowboy'' ( th, ซอยคาวบอย) is a 2008 Thai drama film directed by British director Thomas Clay. The film stars Nicolas Bro as a Danish expatriate living in Bangkok and Pimwalee Thampanyasan as his Thai girlfriend. Soi Cowboy was first shown at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard. Plot Overweight expatriate Tobias shares his Bangkok apartment with his pregnant Thai girlfriend Koi. They have so little in common that their relationship is conducted in near silence though they tolerate each other for reasons of security and companionship. Their lives are uneventful and dull until a provincial mafia hitman arrives on the scene. Tom Waller
Tom Waller (born 4 April 1974 in Bangkok, Thailand) is a film director, screenwriter, and producer. Waller founded the production company De Warrenne Pictures Ltd and secured funding for the film '' Monk Dawson'' (1998), his directorial debut, a story based on an award-winning novel by Piers Paul Read. He went on to produce the films ''Eviction'' (1999), '' Butterfly Man'' (2002), '' Ghost of Mae Nak'' (2005), ''The Elephant King'' (2006) and ''Soi Cowboy'', (2008) which was selected in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival. His second directorial feature was ''Mindfulness and Murder'' (2010), a Thai language murder mystery based on the novel of the same name by Nick Wilgus. Somluck Kamsing (name used in the 1996 Summer Olympics) or Somrak Kamsing ( th, สมรักษ์ คำสิงห์; ; born January 16, 1973) is a Thai kickboxer and Olympic gold medal-winning amateur boxer. During the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, Kamsing lit the torch during the Games' opening ceremony. Kamsing was born in Khon Kaen. His older brother Somrot Kamsing also competed at the highest level as an amateur boxer. Amateur boxing career Somrak started to compete in amateur boxing in parallel as his muay thai career, he earned a bronze medal at the 1989 King's Cup and a gold medal in the 1995 edition.
