Sohae Kammun Line

West Sea Barrage
The Nampho Dam or West Sea Dam, also known as the West Sea Barrage or West Sea Lock Gate, is a tidal barrage located 15 km west of the special city of Nampho, North Korea. It is a large, eight-km-long system of dams, three lock chambers, and 36 sluices, allowing the passage of ships up to 50,000 tons. The dam closes the Taedong River off from the Yellow Sea. It was built by the North Korean Army from 1981 to 1986, with the resources of the whole country directed to this main construction project. The West Sea Barrage Line runs over the dam. The stated goal of the dam was: * The prevention of seawater intrusion into the fresh water, thus solving the water supply problem; * The irrigation of additional land, enlarging the arable territory of the region. Nampo Station (Pyongnam Line)
Namp'o station is a railway station in Hanggu-guyŏk, Namp'o Special City, North Korea on the P'yŏngnam Line of the Korean State Railway, as well as the starting point of the Tojiri Line. There is an engine house northwest of the station in Munhwa-dong, Hanggu-guyŏk. History Originally called Chinnamp'o station, it was opened by the Chosen Government Railway, along with the rest of the mainline of the P'yŏngnam Line, on 16 October 1910. Nampo Shipyard
The Namp'o Shipyard Complex, located in Haean-dong, Hanggu-guyŏk, Namp'o, is one of North Korea's primary shipbuilding enterprises, building primarily cargo ships and fishing boats. Employing 7,000 workers, the facilities include drydocks, 19 cranes, various cutting machines and a 6,000-ton floating dock. Ships of up to 20,000 tons displacement can be built.
