Sociedade Esportiva Picos, commonly known as Picos, is a Brazilian Association football, football club based in Picos, Piauí, Piauí state. They competed in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, Série B once, and in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C four times. Picos is currently ranked fourth among Piauí teams in Brazilian Football Confederation, CBF's national club ranking, at 145th place overall. History The club was founded on February 8, 1976. Picos won the Campeonato Piauiense in 1991, 1994, 1997, and in 1998. Drone (bee)
A drone is a male honey bee. Unlike the female worker bee, drones do not have stingers. They gather neither nectar nor pollen and are unable to feed without assistance from worker bees. A drone's only role is to mate with a maiden queen in nuptial flight. Genetics Drones carry only one type of allele at each chromosomal position, because they are haploid (containing only one set of chromosomes from the mother). During the development of eggs within a queen, a diploid cell with 32 chromosomes divides to generate haploid cells called gametes with 16 chromosomes. The result is a haploid egg, with chromosomes having a new combination of alleles at the various loci. This process is called arrhenotokous parthenogenesis or simply arrhenotoky.
