Sociedade Esportiva Juventude
Sociedade Esportiva Juventude, usually known as Juventude Samas, Juventude-MA or simply Juventude, is a Brazilian football club from São Mateus do Maranhão, Maranhão. Juventude Samas is currently ranked fourth among Maranhão teams in CBF's national club ranking, at 103rd place overall. History Founded in 1979 in the city of Caxias, Juventude only played amateur competitions until 2005, when it played in the Campeonato Maranhense Second Division. After finishing second, the club achieved promotion and played the 2006 Campeonato Maranhense, but finished in the last position and later went to inactivity. The club then played the second division again in 2008, before staying ten years without playing and moving to São Mateus do Maranhão. After finishing fourth in 2018, the club won the second division in 2019, and late in the year, also won the Copa FMF, qualifying for the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. Electric Eel
The electric eels are a genus, ''Electrophorus'', of neotropical freshwater fish from South America in the family Gymnotidae. They are known for their ability to stun their prey by generating electricity, delivering shocks at up to 860 volts. Their electrical capabilities were first studied in 1775, contributing to the invention in 1800 of the electric battery. Despite their name, electric eels are not closely related to the true eels (Anguilliformes) but are members of the electroreceptive knifefish order, Gymnotiformes. This order is more closely related to catfish. In 2019, electric eels were split into three species: for more than two centuries before that, the genus was believed to be monotypic, containing only '' Electrophorus electricus.'' They are nocturnal, air-breathing animals, with poor vision complemented by electrolocation; they mainly eat fish. The Brazilian Football Confederation ( pt, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol; CBF) is the governing body of football in Brazil. It was founded on Monday, 8 June 1914, as , and renamed Confederação Brasileira de Desportos in 1916. The football confederation, as known today, separated from other sports associations on 24 September 1979. Between 1914 and 1979 it was the governing body, or at least the international reference, for other olympic sports, such as tennis (until the CBT was founded in 1955), athletics (until the CBAt was founded in 1977), handball (until 1979), swimming and waterpolo. 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition was originally scheduled to begin on 3 May and end on 22 November, however due to the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled for 6 September 2020 – 6 February 2021. Sixty-eight teams competed in the tournament. Sixty-four teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2019 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( ABC, Atlético Acreano, Globo and Luverdense). Luverdense declined to participate being replaced by Sinop. The match Guarany de Sobral v Salgueiro, scheduled for 20 September 2020 (Group A3 1st round), was postponed after 12 Guarany de Sobral players tested positive for COVID-19. In the Group A8 12th round, (14 November 2020), São Caetano players refused to play their away match against Marcílio Dias in protest over unpaid wages.
