The Socialist Republican Party (SRP) is an Indian political party from the state of Kerala. History The council of SNDP Yogam decided to form A political party on 1974 November, on the basis of that decision the party was formed and declared in 1975 March 13 with the blessings of the SNDP Yogam. with an intention of the uplift of backwards, dalits and minorities to establish social justice by providing Democratic Socialist Casteless and Classless and Secular pattern of Society. The party was created as an answer to the formation of the National Democratic Party by the Nair Service Society. The party had entered into the agitation for the implementation of Mandal commission report for the establishment of communal reservation. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is a constitutional body. It was established by the Constitution of India to conduct and regulate elections in the country. Article 324 of the Constitution provides that the power of superintendence, direction, and control of elections to parliament, state legislatures, the office of the president of India, and the office of vice-president of India shall be vested in the election commission. National Democratic Party (Kerala)
National Democratic Party (NDP) was a political party in Kerala, India that existed from 1974 to 1996 and was the political arm of Nair Service Society. NDP was formed with the aim of reservation of jobs for the economically backward sections of the Nairs. Founded by Kidangoor Gopalakrishna Pillai (General Secretary of NSS), K. P. Ramachandran Nair, Kalathil Velayudhan Nair and Aranmula Kesavan Nair in 1974. In assembly elections National Democratic Party contested its first assembly elections in 1977 and won five assembly seats. The Nair Service Society (NSS) is an organisation created for the social advancement and welfare of the Nair community that is found primarily in the state of Kerala in Southern part of India. It was established under the leadership of Mannathu Padmanabha Pillai. The NSS is a three-tier organisation with Karayogams at the base level, Taluk Unions at the intermediate level and a central headquarters operating from Perunna, Changanassery in Kerala. G. The United Democratic Front (UDF) is the Indian National Congress-led alliance of centre to centre-left, and centre-right, political parties in the Indian state of Kerala. 1987 Kerala Legislative Assembly Election
The elections to the Eighth Kerala Assembly were held on  March 23, 1987. The UDF and the LDF were the two major political  fronts in the arena. The UDF had the INC(I),  IUML, KC(J), KC(M), NDP (P), SRP(S) and the RSP(S) as its constituents. The LDF consisted of the CPI(M), CPI, RSP, IC(S), Janata Party and the Lok Dal.  Background Kerala saw polarisation and splits of political forces since the formation of the United Democratic Front  Ministry on May 24, 1982.
