Socialcam
Socialcam was a mobile social video application for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone, that was launched March 7, 2011 and ended October 28, 2015. It allowed users to capture and share videos online and on mobile, as well as via Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. By July 2012, the application passed 16 million downloads and was acquired by Autodesk for $60 million. Socialcam was founded by Michael Seibel, Ammon Bartram, and Guillaume Luccisano. Its facility was located in San Francisco, California, US. Functionality Socialcam was well known for the following functionality: applying filters to video, applying themes and soundtracks to video, and smooth integration with Facebook. Michael Seibel
Michael Seibel (born October 7, 1982) is a managing director at Y Combinator and co-founder of two startups – Justin.tv/Twitch and Socialcam. He first joined Y Combinator in 2013, advising hundreds of startups, and has been active in promoting diversity efforts among startup founders. Biography Seibel was born in Brooklyn and calls New York City his favorite city. He moved to East Brunswick, New Jersey as a pre-teen and is a 2000 graduate of East Brunswick High School. At Yale, he majored in political science and became friends with Justin Kan. He graduated in 2005. Keek
Keek was a free online social networking service that allowed its users to upload video status updates, which were called "keeks". Users could post keeks to the Keek website using a webcam or via the Keek mobile apps for iPhone, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, or Android (operating system), Android. Users could also reply back with text or video comments, known as "keekbacks", and share content to other major social media networks.
