The men's snowboard cross competition in snowboarding at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 10 February, at the Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou. Alessandro Hämmerle of Austria became the champion. Éliot Grondin of Canada won the silver medal, and Omar Visintin of Italy the bronze. For all of them, this was the first Olympic medal. Jake Vedder (born April 16, 1998) is an American snowboarder who competes internationally in the snowboard cross discipline. He represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Adam Dixon (born August 13, 1989) is a Canadian ice sledge hockey player. Life and career Born in Midland, Ontario, Dixon was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in his right tibia in 1999 at the age of 10 and underwent a 10-hour surgery to remove the tumor and part of his tibia. After this surgery Dixon was unable to play able-bodied hockey and was introduced to sledge hockey at the age of 11. Dixon played 6 years with the Elmvale Bears and at the age of 17 was invited to try out for the Canadian National Sledge hockey team. At the conclusion of the tryout Dixon was asked to join the team for the 2006/2007 season. Nick Baumgartner (born December 17, 1981) is an American snowboarder from Iron River, Michigan. He competes in snowboard cross (SBX) and qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics. He won the gold and silver medals in the 2011 and 2012 Winter X Games. Baumgartner competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics and won his first Olympic gold at the age of 40 in the 2022 Winter Olympics when he and teammate Lindsey Jacobellis won the inaugural Olympic mixed snowboard cross race.
