Snekkersten Station
Snekkersten station is a railway station serving the district of Snekkersten in the southern outskirts of the city of Helsingør, Denmark. It is located on the Coast Line between Helsingør and Copenhagen and the Little North Line between Helsingør and Hillerød. The train services on the Coast Line are currently operated by the railway company DSB Øresund, whereas the railway company Lokaltog runs frequent local train services between Helsingør station and Hillerød station. History Snekkersten station is not one of the original stations on the North Line which opened in 1864. The tracks were then located a little further to the west. In 1879, a halt was made near Borupgaard, a local farm. Traffic grew significantly when the Coast Line opened in 1897. The station was refurbished by Sigurd Christensen in 1954. Regional rail, also known as local trains and stopping trains, are passenger rail services that operate between towns and cities. These trains operate with more stops over shorter distances than inter-city rail, but fewer stops and faster service than commuter rail. Nordbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects Copenhagen city center with several northern suburbs, and the cities of Hillerød, Birkerød and Allerød Stations Service patterns The weekday service consists of service A which stops at all stations until Holte, and E which runs with limited stops until Holte and then stops at all stations until Hillerød. Hillerød station () is a railway station serving the city of Hillerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Helsingør station () is the principal railway station serving the city of Helsingør ( en, Elsinore), Denmark. It is the terminus of the Coast Line to Copenhagen, the Little North Line to Hillerød and the Hornbæk Line to Gilleleje. It also provides easy access to the ferries to Helsingborg, Sweden. History The first railway station in Helsingør was built in 1863 as the terminus of the North Line from Copenhagen to Helsingør by way of Hillerød in 1863. In 1891, the station was moved to its current location close to the harbour in order to provide easier access to the ferries to Helsingborg in Sweden. Lokaltog A/S ( en, Local Trains Ltd) is a Danish railway company responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster in Denmark. The company was formed on 1 July 2015 as a merger of Lokalbanen A/S and Regionstog A/S. Movia owns a part of Lokaltog, whereas buses are owned by companies, subcontractors, that are paid by this transit agency to drive according to contract. Railway lines Lokaltog is responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways with a combined length of on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster. The numbers are for the table only. There are no official train line numbers for these trains. Coast Line (Denmark)
Kystbanen ("The Coast Line") is a regional railway line between Helsingør (Elsinore) and Copenhagen in Denmark. It was opened in 1897, and it is today the busiest railway line in Denmark. Kystbanen, along with an extensive network of railways in Scania, are run by DSB Øresund, part of DSB. Its original terminus was Østerport Station, but when the station was connected with Copenhagen Central Station in 1917, the terminus moved there. When the Øresund Bridge opened in 2000, service extended to Malmö in Sweden, though the section between Copenhagen and Malmö is a separate railway, the Øresund Line.
