Sneh Bandhan
''Sneh Bandhan'' (The Bonds Of Love) also called Intezar, is a social melodrama Bollywood film. It was released in 1940. The film was a maiden production from producer Kikubhai Desai's new banner; Great India Pictures. Previously known to produce crime thrillers and fantasy, this was Desai's first social genre film. The music was by Pannalal Ghosh, with lyrics written by Pandit Betaab. The cast included Bibbo, E. Billimoria, Navin Yagnik, Pratima Devi and Muzammil. The film focuses on Snehalata, played by Bibbo, who is in love with the poor Gopal, but has to marry the rich Prakash. The story takes several turns in Sneha's life which include murder, a jail term, the birth of a son, stardom, blackmail and again, a killing where her son, now a lawyer, defends her in court. Bibbo (actress)
Bibbo (born Ishrat Sultana 1906 – 1972) was a music composer, singer and actress who worked in both Indian and Pakistani films. She acted in Indian cinema from 1933 to 1947 before moving to Pakistan, following Partition of India in 1947. She started her acting career with Ajanta Cinetone Ltd. in 1933, working with directors like M. D. Bhavnani and A. P. Kapoor. She was one of the top leading ladies of the 1930s along with actresses like Devika Rani, Durga Khote, Sulochana, Mehtab, Shanta Apte, Sabita Devi, Leela Desai and Naseem Banu. She was referred to as "one of the most important female stars of the 1930s and 1940s". Her fame had her featured in the lyrics of a popular song from the film ''Gharib Ke Lal'' (1939) sung by Mirza Musharraf and Kamla Karnataki, with music by Sagheer Asif and lyrics by Rafi Kashmiri. Pandit Pannalal Ghosh ( bn, পান্নালাল ঘোষ; 24 July 1911 – 20 April 1960), also known as Amal Jyoti Ghosh, was an Indian flute ( bansuri) player and composer. He was a disciple of Allauddin Khan, and is credited with popularizing the flute as a concert instrument in Hindustani classical music and also the "Pioneer of Indian Classical Flute". Early life Pannalal Ghosh was born on 24 July 1911 in Barisal, Bengal Presidency, British India. He was named Amal Jyoti Ghosh with Pannalal having been his nickname. His father, Akshay Kumar Ghosh, was a sitarist. Ghosh received his initial training in music from his father, learning to play the sitar. Two apocryphal incidents in his childhood are believed to have influenced Ghosh in taking up the flute.
