Grigory Sergeyevich Smirnov (russian: Григорий Сергеевич Смирнов, born 1 April 1997) is a Russian retired ice dancer who competed for the United States. With his former skating partner, Anastasia Shpilevaya, competing for Russia, he is the 2019 Bavarian Open champion, 2016 Youth Olympic champion, and 2017 Russian junior national champion. During the 2021–22, he competes with Avonley Nguyen for the United States. He did not represent the US in international competition. Alexei Yuryevich Smirnov (russian: Алексе́й Ю́рьевич Cмирно́в; born October 16, 1951) is a neutrino physics researcher and one of the discoverers of the MSW Effect. Education Alexei Smirnov graduated from MSU Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University in 1974. In 1977, he began to work at the Institute for Nuclear Research (INR) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, where he received his Candidate of Sciences degree in 1979. In 1989, he received a degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical sciences. He also taught at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University in the period from 1982 to 1990. Smirnov joined the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy in 1992 as a staff-associate while continuing his affiliation with INR (Moscow) as a leading research scientist. Konstantin Nikolaevich Smirnov (russian: Константин Николаевич Смирнов), (19 May 1854 – 9 November 1930) was a general in the Imperial Russian Army. Biography Smirnov was born in Odessa to a family of minor Ruthenian nobility originally from the Minsk Governorate of the Russian Empire. He graduated from the Mikhailovsky Artillery School and the General Staff Academy, and served as commandant of the Odessa Infantry Cadet School from 1896-1898. He was chief of staff of the Warsaw Fortress in 1899. Gennady Mikhailovich Smirnov (russian: Геннадий Михайлович Смирнов; 16 January 1955 – 2 September 2000) was a Soviet footballer who played as a striker in the 1970s and 1980s. Career Born in Saratov, Smirnov began playing football with local side Sokol Saratov. He scored 34 league goals for the club in just over two seasons, earning a move to Soviet Top League side Krylia Sovetov Kyubyshev in 1997. Shortly after, Smirnov entered military service and was sent to play for SKA-Khabarovsk. Over the course of three Soviet Second League seasons Smirnov scored 56 goals for SKA-Khabarovsk, scoring a club-best 27 goals in a single season, making him the club's fifth all-time leading goal-scorer. Aleksandr Petrovich Smirnov (born in 1877 in the village of Nikola, in the Tver province – on February 9, 1938) Was a Russian Old Bolshevik, revolutionary and Soviet statesman. Born in to a peasant family, he later became a factoryworker. He became a member of the League of Struggle for the Emancipation of the Working Class in 1896. Smirnov was elected as a candidate member of the Central Committee of the RSDLP in 1907 and 1912. In 1917 he became chairman of the soviet in Bogorodsk (present-day Noginsk), and a member of the presidium of the soviet of Moscow province.
