Grigory Smirnov
Grigory Sergeyevich Smirnov (russian: Григорий Сергеевич Смирнов, born 1 April 1997) is a Russian retired ice dancer who competed for the United States. With his former skating partner, Anastasia Shpilevaya, competing for Russia, he is the 2019 Bavarian Open champion, 2016 Youth Olympic champion, and 2017 Russian junior national champion. During the 2021–22, he competes with Avonley Nguyen for the United States. He did not represent the US in international competition. Personal life Grigory Sergeyevich Smirnov was born on 1 April 1997 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He resides in Moscow. Career Early years Smirnov began learning to skate in 2002. He competed with Yulia Borisova in the 2010–11 season and with Valeria Neyman in 2011–12. Smirnov teamed up with Anastasia Shpilevaya ahead of the 2012–13 season. The 2016–17 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final and ISU Junior Grand Prix Final took place from 8 to 11 December 2016 at the Palais omnisports Marseille Grand-Est in Marseille, France. Figure skating is one of the sports featured at the Winter Youth Olympics. It includes the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Courchevel
Courchevel () is a French Alps ski resort. It is a part of Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski areas in the world. Courchevel also refers to the towns of Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz), Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), and Courchevel 1850, which are named for their altitudes in metres. On 1 January 2017, Saint-Bon-Tarentaise (1100) merged into the new commune Courchevel. The resort centre of Courchevel is at 1,747 metres (5,732 ft). The name Courchevel 1850 was chosen for marketing reasons to compete with rival ski resort Val d'Isère. It is the Jardin Alpin area of Courchevel 1850 rather than the centre which is located at 1,850 metres (6,070 ft). Location Courchevel used to be part of the commune of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise, but in 2017 that was merged with La Perrière into the new commune of Courchevel. 2014–15 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2014–15 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 18th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2014–15 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. At each event, skaters also earned points toward qualifying for the final. The Icechallenge (formerly known as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen or Leo Scheu Memorial) is an annual international figure skating competition organized by the Grazer Eislaufverein and sanctioned by the Austrian Figure Skating association and the International Skating Union. The event is usually held every autumn in Graz, Austria. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. In 2014 and 2015, the Ice Challenge's senior events were part of the ISU Challenger Series. In 2021, the Icechallenge returned to the ISU Challenger Series under the name Cup of Austria.
