Smallville (comics)
Smallville is a fictional town in American comic books published by DC Comics. The childhood hometown of Superman, Smallville was first named in ''Superboy'' #2 (May 1949). The town is the setting of many ''Superboy (comic book), Superboy'' comics where Superboy defends Smallville from various threats. History Pre-Crisis In the earliest Golden Age of Comic Books, Golden Age comics, the name of Clark Kent's hometown is uncertain. Earliest stories would either show Clark's hometown as unnamed or even as Metropolis (comics), Metropolis. However, as of ''Superboy'' #2, Smallville's name is permanently identified. Smallville is retroactively shown as the Golden Age Superman's childhood hometown as well, as seen in the "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" series in ''Superman Family'', as well as in ''The New Adventures of Superboy'' #15-16 (March–April 1981). Kurt Schaffenberger
Kurt Schaffenberger (December 15, 1920 – January 24, 2002) was an American comics artist. He was best known for his work on Captain Marvel (DC Comics), Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family during both the Golden Age of comic books, Golden Age and Bronze Age of Comic Books, Bronze Age of comics, as well as his work on the title ''Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane'' during the 1950s and 1960s. Kryptonite
Kryptonite is a fictional material that appears primarily in Superman stories published by DC Comics. In its best-known form, it is a green, crystalline material originating from Superman's home world of Krypton that emits a unique, poisonous radiation that can weaken and even kill Kryptonians. Kryptonite radiation can emit through any element except lead. Thus, Superman has a special lead suit to protect himself from the radiation. The Kents
''The Kents'' is the title of a 12-issue comic book limited series published by DC Comics, from August 1997 to July 1998. The story concerns a troubled generation of ancestors to Jonathan "Pa" Kent ( Superman's adoptive father). Set in the mid to late 19th century, the two main characters are brothers Nathaniel and Jebediah. The series was written by John Ostrander. As with many limited series, it was later collected as a trade paperback.
