Slovenian Basketball League
The Premier A Slovenian Basketball League ( sl, 1. slovenska košarkarska liga), abbreviated as 1. SKL and known as the Liga Nova KBM due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-level professional men's basketball league in Slovenia. The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, consists of eleven clubs. The most successful team is Cedevita Olimpija with 19 titles. History The league was founded in 1991, shortly after Slovenia's independence from SFR Yugoslavia. Before the independence, the Slovenian Republic League was played as a second or third level of Yugoslav basketball. Olimpija, Ljubljana, Slovan, ŽKK Maribor, Lesonit, and Branik Maribor were the only Slovenian teams that played in the Yugoslav First Federal League. ŽKK Maribor
Železničarski košarkarski klub Maribor, commonly referred to as ŽKK Maribor or simply ŽKK, was a basketball team based in Maribor, Slovenia. The club was founded in 1946 and was dissolved after the 2005–06 season due to financial difficulties. History The club was founded in 1946 as a basketball section of SŠD Železničar. It won its first Slovenian title in 1949 and renamed as ŽKK Maribor in 1954. They played in the Yugoslav First Federal Basketball League the following year, but were relegated with only one win and finished in the last place. In the 1970s, ŽKK also played in the Yugoslav Second League and later renamed as Tima MTT. Under that name they played in the Yugoslav 1. B League from 1985 until 1987. Miljan Pavković
Miljan Pavković (; born April 20, 1981) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for Šenčur of the Slovenian League and the ABA League 2. Professional career Pavković started his professional career with Zdravlje in 1998. He spent six seasons in Leskovac, before transferring to NIS Vojvodina in 2004. Pavković left Novi Sad in 2005, signing for Budućnost Podgorica. After two seasons in Montenegro, he signed for Hemofarm in 2007, spending the next four years in Vršac. In the 2011–12 season, Pavković played with Radnički Kragujevac. In June 2012, Pavković moved abroad, signing with ČEZ Nymburk in the Czech Republic. In July 2013, Pavković signed with KK Igokea. Jurica Golemac
Jurica Golemac (born May 29, 1977) is a Croatian-born Slovenian professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as the head coach for Cedevita Olimpija of the Slovenian League, ABA League and the EuroCup. He is 2.09 m (6 ft 10¼ in) tall and weighs 102 kg (225 lbs). He can played at both the forward and center positions. Arena Stožice
The Stožice Arena ( sl, Arena Stožice) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was designed by Slovenian Sadar Vuga d.o.o. architects and is the biggest indoor arena in the country. It lies in the Bežigrad district, north of the city centre. The arena is part of the Stožice Sports Park sports complex. The arena is the home ground of basketball club KK Cedevita Olimpija. History The arena was named after the area in which it is located, and the change of the name is possible in the future due to sponsorship rights. Together with a football stadium it is part of the Stožice Sports Park. The arena building area measures 14,164 square meters. Ljubljana

Košarkarski klub Cedevita Olimpija ( en, Cedevita Olimpija Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Cedevita Olimpija or simply Olimpija, is a men's professional basketball club based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The club competes in the ABA League and the EuroCup, as well as in the Slovenian League. The club was established in 2019 after the merger of the most successful Slovenian club Olimpija and the Croatian powerhouse Cedevita.
