The Slovenia Billie Jean King Cup team represents Slovenia in the Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Slovene Tennis Association. They currently compete in the World Group II. History Slovenia competed in its first Fed Cup in 1992. Their best result was reaching the quarterfinals in 2003. Prior to 1992, Slovenian players represented Yugoslavia. Kaja Juvan (born 25 November 2000) is a Slovenian tennis player who turned professional on 17 October 2016. Juvan has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 58, achieved on 6 June 2022, and peaked at No. 99 in the doubles rankings on 11 July 2022. She won her maiden WTA Tour doubles title at the 2021 Winners Open in Cluj-Napoca, partnering Natela Dzalamidze. Junior career On the junior tour, she achieved a career-high combined ranking of 5, in January 2017. The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. The Billie Jean King Cup is the world's largest annual women's international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete. The current Chairperson is Katrina Adams. The Czech Republic dominated the BJK Cup in the 2010s, winning six of ten competitions in the decade. Tamara Zidanšek (; born 26 December 1997) is a Slovenian tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of No. 22 in singles and No. 54 in doubles, and is the current number-one Slovene tennis player in singles. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court.
