Sugar & Spice (Mýa Album)
''Sugar & Spice'' is the fifth studio album by American singer Mýa. It was released by Manhattan Recordings exclusively in Japan on December 3, 2008. The album was produced through Mýa's own independent label imprint Planet 9 following her departure from Universal Motown amid the leakage of her previous album '' Liberation'' on the Japanese music market. Rather than spending time in court suing Motown/Universal, she opted out of her contract. Mýa was then approached to record more albums exclusively for the Japanese market because of the reaction there to ''Liberation''. Recorded between the months of September and November 2008 at Mýa's own recording studio, production was primary handled by a variety of low-profile producers; enlisting the help of Arkatech Beatz, Riddim Fingaz, The Smith Bros, and Duke Williams among others. Harrison, took full creative control co-writing the entire album with producer Christopher Moore and served as executive producer. Guest features inc ...

One Stop Carnival
''One Stop Carnival'' is the debut and sole studio album of American actor Brian Green. It was released on November 5, 1996, by Yab Yum Entertainment and 550 Music (which was a subsidiary of Epic Records). Recording and production The album’s sound imitated other West Coast hip-hop acts from the era, including Souls of Mischief, The Pharcyde, and Ahmed. It was rumoured that several of Green’s verses were ghostwritten by other artists. Green was known to be close friends with several of the album’s guests, including slimkid3 and Kamau Holloway. Critical reception ''One Stop Carnival'' was met with negative publicity, both inside and outside the hip-hop industry. Green's music drew comparisons to A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One and Vanilla Ice. The Onion and The A.V. Club both named the album as one of the least-essential of the 1990's. Allmusic reviewer Jason Ankeny called the album "pallid, uninspired, and insufferably arrogant, with no acknowledgement that its very ex ...

Labcabincalifornia
''Labcabincalifornia'' is the second album by The Pharcyde, released in 1995, three years after their debut '' Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde''. The album's production was handled by The Pharcyde themselves and Jay Dee, with additional help from Diamond D and M-Walk. The video for the album's first single, " Drop", was directed by Spike Jonze and used footage of the group performing the song backwards, replayed backwards, giving it a surreal quality. The song was a hit, as was the follow-up single " Runnin'," which peaked at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100. Overall, this album is a more mellow and introspective affair than their debut and features more somber themes such as dealing with fame and success, drug abuse, and broken down relationships. Album sales compared to ''Bizarre Ride'' did not fare as well; the group was not able to reach Gold status. Although it received mixed reviews upon release due to the group's sudden shift of direction from its previous album, it received crit ...

'' The A.V. Club'' wrote that "too often ... ''Plain Rap'' sounds like what ''Labcabins detractors unfairly accused it of being: mature and adult to the point of sounding hopelessly dull."
