Slide Away (Oasis Song)
"Slide Away" is a song by the English rock band Oasis, taken from their debut studio album ''Definitely Maybe'' (1994). It was written by lead guitarist Noel Gallagher and serves as the tenth track on the album. Composition and recording Writing Noel Gallagher claims he wrote it on a Les Paul guitar that Johnny Marr sent to him, since he had few guitars available to him at the time. On the ''Definitely Maybe'' DVD, he also notes that he took Marr's guitar out of the case, sat down, and ''"the song wrote itself"''. Gallagher wrote it about his girlfriend at the time – Louise Jones and the song was written about their stormy relationship. Reading And Leeds Festivals
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Live by the Sea is a live video recording by the English rock band Oasis, released on DVD, VCD, and VHS. It features Oasis' gig at the Southend Cliffs Pavilion on 17 April 1995, as well as the videos for "Rock 'n' Roll Star" and "Cigarettes & Alcohol". The title is a pun on a line from the song "(It's Good) To Be Free". History and release The seventeen-track recording was filmed on 17 April 1995 and then released onto VHS on 28 August 1995 and VCD in 1996. Gem Archer
Colin Murray Archer (born 7 December 1966) is an English musician and singer, best known as a member of the English rock bands Oasis, Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, making him, alongside Chris Sharrock, one of the only members of Oasis to have been part of both Liam and Noel Gallagher's post-Oasis projects. He is also known for his work with Heavy Stereo. He joined Oasis as rhythm guitarist in November 1999, and handled lead guitar for acoustic songs as well. He also contributed to the writing of some of the band's songs. The Dig Out Your Soul Tour was the final concert tour by English rock band Oasis, in support of their album ''Dig Out Your Soul''. The tour started in Seattle, Washington at the WaMu Theater on 26 August 2008 and was planned to continue until 30 August 2009, where they were scheduled to play their final show of the tour at the I-Day Festival in Milan, Italy.
