"Sleeping My Day Away" is the most successful single from the Danish rock band D-A-D outside Denmark, with two weeks on the UK top 100. The single was released in 1989, with "Ill Will" as the b-side. Both songs appear on their ''No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims'' album. The song was covered by German gothic rock band Mono Inc. for their album ''Pain, Love & Poetry''. D-A-D
D-A-D is a Danish rock band. They were originally named Disneyland After Dark, but changed their name to avoid a lawsuit from The Walt Disney Company. History In the early 1980s in Copenhagen, D-A-D started playing together under their original name ''Disneyland After Dark''. Pedersen came up with the name based on the idea that when the lights are out in Disneyland, anything can happen. The first lineup of D-A-D consisted of Jesper, Stig, Peter and Stig's girlfriend, Lene Glumer. The band's debut concert was at the youth club Sundby Algaard. In December 1982, Lene Glumer left the band and the three of them kept playing together and on 3 March. 1984 Jesper's younger brother, Jacob, joined the band at a concert at Musikcaféen in Copenhagen. The band released their first album, '' Call of the Wild'' in 1986. ''No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims'' is the third (and first international) studio album by Danish rock band D-A-D. The album was released on 3 March 1989 in Denmark by Medley Records and worldwide on 8 September 1989 by Warner Bros. The band was still called Disneyland After Dark on the original Danish release but changed their name to D-A-D for the international release to avoid a lawsuit from The Walt Disney Company. For the international version tracks 1, 3, 4 & 7 were remixed by Chris Lord-Alge at Image Recording in Los Angeles. It was the band's most popular release, largely due to the inclusion of the minor hits "Rim of Hell" and "Sleeping My Day Away". Mono Inc. is a German gothic rock band from Hamburg, founded in 2000. MONO is a derivative of Monomania (German "Monomanie"), a term from the 19th century psychiatric disease theory, a form of partial insanity conceived as single pathological preoccupation in an otherwise sound mind.
