Skye Edwards
Skye Edwards (born Shirley Klaris Yonavieve Edwards; 27 May 1974), sometimes simply Skye, is a British singer-songwriter. Her career began in 1994 when she and the Godfrey brothers (Paul Godfrey, a DJ, and Ross Godfrey, a multi-instrumentalist) formed the band Morcheeba, which released five albums with Skye as lead vocalist. In 2003, the band split, after which Skye released two solo albums: '' Mind How You Go'' in 2006, and ''Keeping Secrets'' in 2009. In 2010, Edwards returned to Morcheeba, again as lead vocalist. In 2012, she released her third solo album, ''Back to Now'', while in 2015 she released her fourth one, ''In A Low Light''. Edwards decided to shorten her name to Skye by taking the first letter of each of her names and putting them together. She is married to bass player Steve Gordon and they have four children. Trip Hop
Trip hop (sometimes used synonymously with "downtempo") is a musical genre that originated in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom, especially Bristol. It has been described as a psychedelic music, psychedelic fusion of hip hop music, hip hop and electronica with slow tempos and an atmospheric sound, often incorporating elements of jazz, soul music, soul, funk, reggae, dub music, dub, Contemporary R&B, R&B, and other forms of electronic dance music, electronic music, as well as sample (music), sampling from movie soundtracks and other eclectic sources. Steve Fitzmaurice
Stephen Fitzmaurice is an Irish mixer and producer based in London, England. His credits include albums for Depeche Mode, Seal, Sam Smith, Ian Brown, Kylie Minogue, Sting, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, The Kooks, Alicia Keys, U2, Hikaru Utada, and Mr.Children. As a teenager, Fitzmaurice moved from Dublin to London, where he began working at Sarm Studios with producer Trevor Horn and mixer Julian Mendelsohn. He later moved to New York where he worked on records by Jodeci, Eric Clapton and young upcoming artists, including Timbaland and Missy Elliott. Since becoming a freelance mix engineer and producer, Fitzmaurice has won and been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. ''A View to a Kill'' is a 1985 spy film and the fourteenth in the ''James Bond'' series produced by Eon Productions, and is the seventh and final appearance of Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Nouvelle Vague (band)
Nouvelle Vague is a French cover band led by musicians Olivier Libaux and Marc Collin. Their name means "new wave" in French, and refers simultaneously to the French New Wave cinema movement of the 1960s, to the new wave music movement of the 1970s and 1980s, which provides many of the songs that the band covers, and to bossa nova (Portuguese for "new wave"), a musical style that the band frequently uses in its arrangements. The group's recordings and live performances have featured a large rotating cast of mostly female vocalists. Marc Collin
Marc Collin is a French musician, film music composer and record producer. He is best known as the founder, with Olivier Libaux, of the project Nouvelle Vague, a cover band that covers new wave songs in a bossa nova style. Collin also released a side-project album in 2008 under his own name, titled ''Hollywood, mon amour'', consisting of covers, on the Nouvelle Vague formula, of songs from 1980s film soundtracks. Collin stated that he did not embark on the project out of nostalgia for the films, but because he was drawn to the challenge of transforming extremely well-known hits into intimate tracks. Collin has worked on several film soundtracks, notably that of 1998's '' Les Kidnappeurs'', directed by Graham Guit. KCRW (89.9 MHz FM) is a National Public Radio member station broadcasting from the campus of Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California, where the station is licensed.
