Sky's The Limit, is an America rock band formed in Virginia in 1998. The band was the first major project to highlight Dave Elkins as an artist. History Sky's the Limit was created in 1998 in Virginia. After performing a series of local shows they completed and released a self-titled album Sky's The Limit. The CD release quickly fell out of print and today copies are rare to find. The band disbanded as Dave Elkins formed Mae in 2001. In 2010 the album Sky's the Limit was re-released as a digital download through Spartan Records Spartan Records was founded by John T. Frazier in Seattle, Washington in January 2007. Spartan Records was founded by John T. Frazier in Seattle, Washington in January 2007. It is currently home to the bands Schematic, Barren Womb, Ourlives, Shy, Low, and several others. Prior to founding Spartan, Frazier was the director of marketing at several preeminent independent record labels including Tooth and Nail Records, Solid State Records, and Drive-Thru Records. The label has been a full-time operation since January 2013. Spartan Records is known for its creative pressing of colored vinyl variants. Background Formation John T. Dave Elkins
Dave Elkins (born Dave Gimenez) is an American musician from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is best known as the co-founder and lead singer of the band Mae. His other notable musical projects include Sky's The Limit and Schematic. Career Sky's the Limit In 2001, Elkins was the lead singer for the band Sky's the Limit. The band's only album, self-titled, was originally released independently, then later released again through Spartan Records to allow for greater distribution. Elkins went on to re-record several Sky's the Limit songs with Mae. Mae In 2002, Elkins formed the band Mae with friend Jacob Marshall, with Elkins serving as lead vocalist and guitarist through several studio albums and EPs. The band went on hiatus in 2010, at which point Elkins and the other band members moved on to other projects.
