Sklep Theatre
Sklep Theatre (Czech: ''Divadlo Sklep'') is a theatre in the Czech capital of Prague, founded in 1971 by Milan Šteindler and David Vávra. It is currently based at the Divadlo Dobeška building in Braník. History Origins Sklep Theatre was originally founded in 1971 by two fourteen-year-olds, Milan Šteindler and David Vávra, in the cellar of Vávra's grandmother's house, under the name Kobil klub. They performed only for friends during the first few years, but in the latter part of the 1970s, their audience began to grow. The ensemble expanded from the initial duo, adding a number of actors, including Tomáš Vorel, Eva Holubová, Tomáš Hanák, Jiří Burda, and František Váša. Divadlo Dobeška Since 1980, the ensemble has been based at the Dobeška cultural building. Jiří Macháček
Jiří Macháček (born 6 July 1966 in Litoměřice) is a Czech actor and singer. Education Macháček graduated from high school in Prague before attending Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, the Law Faculty at Charles University in Prague, and the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. Career Macháček performed with several Czech theaters including the Theatre on the Balustrade (Divadlo Na zábradlí), Divadlo Sklep, and Divadlo Na Jezerce. His first major film role, in Saša Gedeon's comedy ''Return of the Idiot'' (1999), was followed by a prominent role in David Ondricek's '' Samotáři'' (Loners) in 2000, for which he won the Czech Lion for Best Supporting Actor. František Skála
František Skála (born 1956 in Prague) is a Czech sculptor, painter, children's book illustrator, musician, and dancer. He was part of one of the earliest post-modern Czech art groups, known as ''Tvrdohlaví'' (The Stubborn Ones) formed in 1987. Life and career Skála studied woodcarving at Secondary Applied Arts School (SUPŠ) in Prague from 1971 to 1975 and in 1982 graduated from the University of Applied Arts (VŠUP) in Prague in film and television graphics. His initial career was as an illustrator of children's books, and he won a number of awards in this field. In 1995, he represented the Czech Republic with his illustrations at the Frankfurt International Book Fair.
