Skip Williamson (producer)
Skip Williamson is an American Grammy-nominated music producer, feature film producer, and publisher. After establishing the independent label, Will Records, he partnered with Lakeshore Entertainment to form Lakeshore Records. Williamson is also a co-publisher and Chief Creative Officer of ''Revolver''. Career Before entering the entertainment industry, Williamson served as a strategist on Wall Street, constructing corporate prospectuses for mergers and acquisitions. In 1994, under the moniker Will Records, Williamson started producing underground albums out of his garage, including early work by Grandaddy, AK1200, and Candiria. He produced numerous albums for films, earning a pair of Grammy nominations for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media on ''Napoleon Dynamite'' (2005) and ''Little Miss Sunshine'' (2006). ''Underworld'' is a series of dark fantasy action horror films created by Len Wiseman, Kevin Grevioux, and Danny McBride, that follows characters who are caught up in a war between vampires and werewolves (called "lycans" within the films). ''Crank'' is a 2006 American action film written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (in their directorial debuts) and starring Jason Statham, Amy Smart and Jose Pablo Cantillo. The plot centers on a British hitman based in Los Angeles named Chev Chelios who is poisoned by the mafia and must keep his adrenaline flowing constantly in order to keep himself alive. DeVotchKa provides the majority of the music on the soundtrack, and also the score, which they did with Mychael Danna. Lakeshore Entertainment Group, LLC is an American independent film production, finance, and former international sales and distribution company founded in 1994 by Tom Rosenberg and Ted Tannebaum (1933–2002). Lakeshore Entertainment is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. The company produced over 60 films, including the Academy Award-winning '' Million Dollar Baby''. Sigurjón Sighvatsson was the company's first president and served from its founding until 1998. He was replaced by producer Gary Lucchesi. The company also had a record label division, Lakeshore Records. In 2013, the company launched a television division, and in 2015, they launched a digital studio, Off the Dock, that targets the YouTube demographic. Lakeshore Records was the independent music division of Lakeshore Entertainment. They had begun as Will Records, which was founded by Skip Williamson in the early 1990s.
