Skioessa (Greek: Σκιόεσσα, meaning "umbrageous") is a neighbourhood and a settlement in the northeastern part of the city of Patras. Skioessa had a population of 526 for the settlement. Skioessa is located 5 km from downtown Patras, about 5 km southeast of Rio, about 37 km west of Aigio and 2 km east of the GR-8/ E55 (Athens - Corinth - Patras and Aretha Street. Meilichos
Meilichos (, ) is a torrent in the northwestern part of Achaea, southern Greece. The river flows from a spring near Skioessa near the northern part of the Panachaiko mountain west of the ravine of Charadros to the Gulf of Patras. It passes north of Skioessa, under a viaduct of Motorway 5 (Greece), Motorway 5, through the village Sychaina, now a neighbourhood of Patras, it empties west of the neighbourhood of Agyia. Greek National Road 8 ( el, Εθνική Οδός 8, abbreviated as EO8, common name: old Athens-Patras national road) is a single carriageway with at-grade intersections in the Attica, Peloponnese and West Greece regions. It connects Athens with the cities of Corinth and Patras.
