Enda Kenny (singer)
Enda Kenny is an Irish-born Australian folk-singer and songwriter. Kenny was born in Dublin, and migrated to Melbourne in 1987. He released his debut album, ''Twelve Songs'', in 1994. Though self-recorded and self-released, the album received generally solid reviews, and was described by the ''Sydney Morning Herald'' as "the best folk album to be released in this country since Eric Bogle's "Scraps of Paper". It was followed by ''Baker's Dozen'' in 1996, which received similarly positive reviews. A song from that album, ''Rabin'', about assassinated former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, won the Lawson Paterson Award for Songwriting at the Port Fairy Folk Festival. This was followed with a third album, '' Six of One'' in 1998, which featured a number of covers, and was less well reviewed. Francis Essex
Francis Essex (24 March 1929 – 5 March 2009) was a British television and stage producer, author and composer. Essex's career spanned several decades during which he worked for several TV production companies. His jobs included: Light Entertainment Producer for the BBC channel in the UK from 1954 to 1960; Senior Producer for the ATV (Associated Television) Network from 1960 to 1965; Controller of Programmes at Scottish Television from 1965 to 1969; Network Production Controller at ATV from 1969 to 1976; Member of the ATV Board of Directors from 1974; Director of Production at ATV from 1976 to 1981 and Chairman of the ITV Children's Network Committee from 1976 to 1981. ''History is What's Happening'' is the second album of songs by Dutch punk rock band The Ex, originally released in 1982. Background Released two year's after the band's first album, ''History is What's Happening'' comprises studio recording of songs that The Ex had been playing live throughout 1981, supplemented by material developed in the studio. ''Joe Nichols'' is the debut studio album of American country music artist Joe Nichols. It was released on August 27, 1996 by Intersound Records, it produced the singles "Six of One, Half a Dozen of the Other", "I Hate the Way I Love You", "To Tell You the Truth, I Lied", and "Wal-Mart Parking Lot Social Club". None of these singles charted on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts in the U.S., but "Six of One, Half a Dozen (Of the Other)" reached number 74 on the ''RPM'' Top Country Tracks charts in Canada. ''Ironic Universe'' is a 2006 double album of prepared guitar music by Janet Feder and Fred Frith. It comprises a studio CD of solo tracks by Feder and duo musical improvisation, improvisations by Feder and Frith, and a live DVD of solo performances by Frith and Feder filmed in Colorado. It was released by Dave Kerman's Ad Hoc Records on January 1, 2006. Reception In a review at AllMusic, Rick Anderson described ''Ironic Universe'' as "[b]eautiful". Thunder are an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes (lead vocals), Luke Morley (guitar, backing vocals) and Gary "Harry" James (drums), along with second guitarist and keyboardist Ben Matthews and bassist Mark "Snake" Luckhurst. Originally signed to EMI Records in the UK, the band released their debut album ''Backstreet Symphony'' in 1990, which reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 114 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. The 1992 follow-up ''Laughing on Judgement Day'' reached number 2, while both albums were certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Squeeze (band)
Squeeze are an English rock band that came to prominence in the United Kingdom during the new wave period of the late 1970s, and continued recording in the 1980s, 1990s and 2010s. In the UK, their singles " Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction", and " Labelled with Love" were top-ten chart hits; "Pulling Mussels" only made it to 44 in the UK charts. Though not as commercially successful in the United States, Squeeze had American hits with " Tempted", " Black Coffee in Bed", and "Hourglass", and were considered a part of the Second British Invasion. The vast majority of their material is composed of lyrics by Chris Difford and music by Glenn Tilbrook, who are guitarists and vocalists in the band.
