The Six Days of Copenhagen is a six-day track cycling race held annually in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event was first held in 1934. Jan Pijnenburg
Johannes "Jan" Baptist Norbertus Pijnenburg (15 February 1906 – 2 December 1979) was a Dutch track cyclist who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. He won the silver medal as part of the Dutch pursuit team. After the Olympics he turned professional and won six-day races in Dortmund (1931, 1932), Berlin (1931), Amsterdam (1932, 1933), Brussels (1932–1934), Paris (1932, 1934), Chicago (1932), Frankfurt (1933), Stuttgart (1933), Antwerp (1934, 1937), Rotterdam (1936) and Copenhagen (1936). Oscar Plattner
Oscar Plattner (17 February 1922, in Tschappina – 21 August 2002, in Zurich) was a Swiss cyclist. National and International Wins Every year between and including 1944 and 1946, Plattner won the Swiss National Amateur Sprint Championships. In 1946, he additionally won the World Amateur Sprint Championships. From 1947 until 1964, Plattner competed in the Swiss National Sprint Championships and won every year he participated. Another notable achievement is his title at the World Sprint Championships in 1952. Plattner won the Tour de Berne in 1950 and the Grand Prix du Paris in 1953. Karel Kaers
Karel Kaers (3 June 1914 – 20 December 1972) was a Belgian professional cyclist with 30 wins. Kaers was born in Vosselaar. In 1934 he became the youngest world road champion, winning in Leipzig at 20. It was the first time he had ridden the race. He also won the Tour of Flanders in 1939, and the Belgian national championship in 1937. His last race was on the track at Ordrup, near Copenhagen, Denmark, on 9 May 1948. He finished fourth in an omnium competition. Youngest world champion Lance Armstrong is frequently described as the youngest world champion.
