''Sister'' is the debut studio album by the Spanish Rock music, rock band Dover (band), Dover. It was released on 15 August 1995 under the independent record company Caroline Records, Everlasting-Caroline. It was recorded between July and August 1995 at Estudio La Nave in Madrid. The record company, lacking resources, did little promotion for the album, which led to a complete failure to sell only 500 copies of an edition of 800, when his goal was to edit and sell 4,000. This was a big disappointment, but it allowed them to add performances (Festimad from 1996 to 1998, and Festival Internacional de Benicàssim in 1996). Even with the disappointment of sales, they recorded their first video, ''Come with Me''. Officially, the album had no single, but this song was the most demanded for at concerts by fans. Dover (band)
Dover was a Spanish rock band founded in Madrid in 1992. The group was composed of the sisters and group leaders Cristina Llanos (vocals) and Amparo Llanos (lead guitarist), drummer Jesús Antúnez and bassist Samuel Titos. They recorded eight albums, selling around two million copies. They are known for their second album '' Devil Came to Me'', which led them to international fame. In 2006, their sixth album, ''Follow the City Lights'' caused controversy as the style of the group changed from alternative rock to electronic pop. The band won, among other things, the revelation group awards at the 1997 Premios Ondas and the award for best Spanish artist at the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards. Festival Internacional De Benicàssim
The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (), commonly abbreviated to simply FIB, is an annual music festival that takes place in the town of Benicàssim, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It focuses mainly on pop, rock and electronica artists, as well as short films, fashion shows and art. FIB has a reputation of being among the best on the international festival circuit. The festival begins on the second Tuesday of July, when the camping grounds open, although music officially commences Thursday afternoon. FIB is notable for having bands play through the night (5 pm8 am) and has three main stages, Las Palmas, Visa and South Beach Dance, with capacities of approximately 30,000, 15,000 and 8,000, respectively. Jesús Antúnez (musician)
Jesús Antúnez (born 25 December 1973) is a Spanish musician, DJ, producer and drummer of the Spanish rock band Dover (band), Dover. Biography Jesús was born in Badajoz, where he attended at High School until 15. He left it because he needed to work. At 17 years old, he started playing drums, having influences as Dave Grohl, Matt Cameron and Dave Abbruzzese. He moved to Madrid in 1992 where, by an advert published in a newspaper by Cristina Llanos, he joined the music group Dover. Later he would become partner of Amparo for a couple of years; even with the breakup as a couple they remained in the group. Amparo Llanos (musician)
Amparo Llanos Fayos (born 27 May 1965) is a Spanish musician, guitarist and songwriter. She was the leader, along with her sister Cristina, of the Spanish rock band Dover. Biography Before the foundation of the band, she worked in the shop of her mother in Majadahonda. She took a course in history and three of Journalism, but according to her, "I left it because I was too timid". Her influences are The Beatles, R.E.M and Nirvana. Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns.
