The ''Sirena''-class submarines were the second sub-class of the 600 Series of coastal submarines built for the (Royal Italian Navy) during the early 1930s. Of the dozen boats built of this class, only one survived World War II. Design and description The ''Sirena'' class was an improved and enlarged version of the preceding s. Draft (hull)
The draft or draught of a ship's hull is the vertical distance between the waterline and the bottom of the hull (keel). The draught of the vessel is the maximum depth of any part of the vessel, including appendages such as rudders, propellers and drop keels if deployed. Draft determines the minimum depth of water a ship or boat can safely navigate. The related term air draft is the maximum height of any part of the vessel above the water. Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico ("United Shipbuilders of the Adriatic") was an Italian manufacturer in the sea and air industry which was active from 1930 to 1966.
