Sir Syed College is a postgraduate institution situated in Taliparamba, Kerala, India. The college is affiliated to the Kannur University. The college is recognized under 2f of the UGC Act and reaccredited by NAAC at the A level. Location The college campus is located on a hillock at Karimbam, Taliparamba. The campus is away from Kannur railway station. History The college was established in 1967 by Cannanore District Muslim Educational Association (CDMEA) which is a Thalassery based NGO. The college began in a temporary building at Karimbam junction. The new campus at Pranthan Kunnu has more facilities like football and basketball grounds and a botanic garden. The college has laboraties for the students of physics, botany and chemistry.

Kannur University is a multi-campus public university established in 1996 to provide development of higher education in Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad districts of Kerala, India. It serves the region of North Malabar. It was established after the passing of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. John Brittas
John Brittas is an Indian politician, Journalist, managing director of Kairali TV (Malayalam Communications, Ltd.) and former Business Head of Asianet Communications. He was born on 24 October 1966, in Kannur into Alilakuzhy family in Pulikurumba. He was elected to Rajya Sabha from Kerala as CPI(M) nominee on 24 April 2021 and took oath on 8 June 2021. Taliparamba (also known as Perinchelloor and Lakshmipuram) is a Municipalities of Kerala, Municipality in Taliparamba taluk of Kannur district, Kerala, India. The municipal town spreads over an area of and is inhabited by 44,247 number of people. Etymology The town's name may be derived from "Tali" (plate) and "Parambu" (area or ground), and from the legend of Rajarajeshwara Temple.
