Sir Frederick Milbank, 1st Baronet
Sir Frederick Acclom Milbank, 1st Baronet (21 April 1820 – 28 April 1898), was a British Liberal Member of Parliament. Career Milbank was elected to the House of Commons for the North Riding of Yorkshire in 1865, a seat he held until 1885, and then represented Richmond until 1886. On 16 May 1882 he was created a Baronet, of Well in the County of York, and of Hart in the County of Durham. Milbank died in April 1898, aged 78. Family He married in 1844 Alexina Harriet Don, daughter of Sir Alexander Don, 6th Baronet. The Hon. Octavius Duncombe (8 April 1817 – 3 December 1879) was a British Conservative politician. Background Duncombe was a younger son of Charles Duncombe, 1st Baron Feversham, and Lady Charlotte, daughter of William Legge, 2nd Earl of Dartmouth. Admiral the Hon. Arthur Duncombe was his elder brother. Political career Duncombe was elected Member of Parliament for the North Riding of Yorkshire in 1841, a seat he held until 1859, and again between 1867 and 1874. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant). Milbank Baronets
The Milbank Baronetcy, of Well in the County of York, and of Hart in the County of Durham, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 16 May 1882 for Frederick Milbank, member of parliament for the North Riding of Yorkshire and for Richmond. The second Baronet represented Radnorshire in the House of Commons as a Conservative. The fourth Baronet was Master of the Household between 1954 and 1967.
