Sinclairsholm Castle
Sinclairsholm Castle ( sv, Sinclairsholms slott) is a castle in Hässleholm Municipality, Scania, in southern Sweden. It was built by the Danish privy counsellor Andrew Sinclair. History The estate was founded in the beginning of the 17th century by the county governor at Landskrona Castle, the Danish privy counsellor Andrew Sinclair. In 1620 he made an exchanged for the parsonage which became the site for the construction of the house, which according to the inscription above the door was completed in 1626. Anders Sinclair, however, never saw the house complete as he died in 1625 and his son Kristian Sinclair took over. The estate then came to belong to Jochum Beck at Torup (probably through purchase), Jörgen Marsvin, county governor Håkan Nilsson Skytte, within whose family it remained until 1808. Hässleholm Municipality
Hässleholm Municipality (''Hässleholms kommun'') is a municipality in Scania County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in the city Hässleholm. The present municipality was created in 1974 when the former ''City of Hässleholm,'' itself incorporated in 1914, was amalgamated with seven surrounding municipalities. In 1863, there were 29 local government units, all rural, in the area. The municipal coat of arms was granted in 1920 and registered for the new municipality in 1974. The cross symbolizes the railway junction, which is the origin of the town Hässleholm. The hazelnuts allude to the name ''Hässleholm'', which roughly translates as ''"Hazel-isle"''. Landskrona Citadel
Landskrona Citadel ( sv, Citadellet or ''Landskrona slott'') is situated in Landskrona, Scania, southern Sweden. Much of the original work is intact. Examples remain of all major parts of the fortification, which is uncommon in such an accessible area. The moat around the central fortification is intact, as are the north-west and north-east parts of the outermost moat, which originally connected to a moat surrounding the city itself. Centermost, the citadel sits on an island surrounded by its own moat. North of the fort, between the second, third and fourth moat is Sweden's oldest allotment-garden. Several of its garden houses are attractions in themselves. Barnekow Family
The Barnekow family is a medieval German nobility, German noble family originating from Mecklenburg and Pommerania. Though the original Mecklenburg branch died out around 1600, Danish, Swedish, and German lines of the family still exist. The family shares its name with the present-day municipality of Barnekow in Germany.
