''Sin-A-Matic'' is an album by Louis Logic, an American American(s) may refer to: * American, something of, from, or related to the United States of America, commonly known as the "United States" or "America" ** Americans, citizens and nationals of the United States of America ** American ancestry, pe ... hip hop artist. The album's title does not refer to the porn film company Sin-A-Matic, but rather it is a play on words. Logic says that the album is supposed to be a "visual ride that presents itself the way a movie would without picture." The album's title sounds like the term "cinematic" referring to cinema, however he included the word " sin" to account for the uglier tales of the album. Louis Dorley, better known as Louis Logic, is a Brooklyn, New York-based underground hip-hop emcee. He has released three full-length studio albums as a solo artist and one album as The Odd Couple with Jay Love, and is a former member of the Demigodz, appearing on a number of tracks on the Godz Must Be Crazy EP. In 2006, he made his arrangement with longtime producer J.J. Brown official. Their last album together was released under the artist name "Louis Logic & J.J. Brown." History He first became interested in hip-hop at the age of eleven when he was exposed to U.T.F.O.'s hit "Roxanne, Roxanne". Joseph Leslie Sample (February 1, 1939 – September 12, 2014) was an American keyboardist and composer. He was one of the founding members of The Jazz Crusaders in 1960, the band which shortened its name to "The Crusaders" in 1971. He remained a part of the group until its final album in 1991 (not including the 2003 reunion album ''Rural Renewal''). Stateside Records, styled as $tateside Records, is a British record label, owned by Warner Music Group and operates through its Parlophone and Warner Records imprints. David Axelrod (April 17, 1931 – February 5, 2017) was an American composer, arranger, and producer. After starting out as a staff producer for record companies specializing in jazz, Axelrod became known by the mid-1960s in soul and jazz circles for his recording skills. ''Touchdown'' is the sixth album by Bob James, released in 1978 on his Tappan Zee label thru Columbia. The album's title is a reference to this being James' sixth solo album (a touchdown being worth six points in American football), a pattern also followed by his previous album ''Heads'' (featuring a five cent coin on its cover) and next album ''Lucky Seven''. ''Taxi'' ''Touchdown'' was a commercial breakout album for him due to its containing the song "Angela", the popular theme song to the 1970s television sitcom ''Taxi''. The song was named after a guest character in the third episode of the first season ("Blind Date"), but after hearing the song, the producers made this the show's main theme, replacing their previous choice, which became this album's title track. Robert McElhiney James (born December 25, 1939) is an American jazz keyboardist, arranger, and record producer. He founded the band Fourplay and wrote "Angela", the theme song for the TV show ''Taxi.'' According to VICE (magazine), music from his first seven albums has often been sampled and believed to have contributed to the formation of hip hop. Among his most well known recordings are "Nautilus", "Westchester Lady", "Tappan Zee", and his version of "Take Me to The Mardi Gras".
