Het Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest (informally RLO) is a secondary school in the town of Oegstgeest in South Holland, founded in 1956. Theo Dobbelman
Theodorus Antonius Hubertus Maria (Theo) Dobbelman (Nijmegen, 22 October 1906 – Montalivet-les-Bains, France, 7 September 1984) was a Dutch sculptor, ceramist and painter. Dobbelman came into prominence as ceramist and leader of the experimental division of De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles in Delft since 1956. He also taught at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. Biography Early life Dobbelman (also: Dobbelmann) was the son of soap maker and politician Pierre Dobbelmann. He initially studied chemistry at the Swiss Fribourg, where he also graduated. He settled in Amsterdam, where he befriended ceramist Just van Deventer. From 1941 he worked with him in his company Tanagra Pottery. After the Second World War Dobbelman left the business, and he worked as an independent artist. Gallery Terra Delft is an art gallery in Delft specialized in ceramics and ceramic art from contemporary national and international ceramists. It was founded in 1986. History Opening and first years The gallery was founded by artist Simone Haak (1952) and Joke Doedens (1961) in 1986 to create new opportunity for ceramists on the Dutch market. High quality ceramic art and products were hard to find in the market, and there were no more than a handful of specialized galleries in those days. The gallery introduced the exhibition concept to offer more than occasional solo exhibitions for artists every month. At Terra Gallery work remained in stock after the exhibitions.
