Simone Favaro
Simone Favaro (born 7 November 1988) is a retired Italian international rugby union player. He made his debut for Italy against Australia on 20 June 2009. He formerly played for Glasgow Warriors and Treviso in the Pro12. Favaro plays at flanker. Rugby Union career Amateur career Favaro, the son of former Italy lock Roberto Favaro, started playing rugby aged nine while living in Zero Branco, on the advice of a family friend. After playing for the Treviso under-19 team, he then played in the Super 10 with Rovigo and Overmach Parma. Professional career He began his professional career playing for the Treviso under-19 team. In June 2010 he joined Aironi for their first season in the Celtic League. He then moved back to Treviso. On 18 February 2015 it was announced that Favaro would sign for the Scottish side Glasgow Warriors for the 2015–16 season in the summer of 2015. Favaro signed until May 2017. 2009 Mid-year Rugby Test Series
The 2009 mid-year rugby union tests (also known as the Summer Internationals in the Northern Hemisphere) refers to the rugby union Internationals played from 23 May to 4 July 2009, mostly in the Southern Hemisphere. The main event in the series was the Lions tour of South Africa, which involved three test matches, while France and Italy travelled to Oceania. For Australia, New Zealand and South Africa the Tests also constituted preparation for the 2009 Tri Nations. There was also a short tour for the Barbarians, including their first ever match in Australia. The two main North American sides, Canada and the United States, used the series as preparation for their annual early-summer competition, the Churchill Cup, and for their 2011 Rugby World Cup qualifying tie in July. The 2009 Six Nations Championship, known as the RBS 6 Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 10th Six Nations Championship, and the 115th international championship, an annual rugby union competition contested by the six major European national teams: England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The tournament was held between 7 February and 21 March 2009. Ireland won the Grand Slam and Triple Crown, only their second Grand Slam, and first since 1948, and first Triple Crown since 2007. Nick Mallett
Nicholas Vivian Haward Mallett (born 30 October 1956) is a former South African rugby union player who played for the Springboks, South Africa's national rugby union team, in 1984. He also coached the Springboks between 1997 and 2000 and was the head coach of Italy's rugby union team between 2007 and 2011. Early life Born on 30 October 1956 in Hertford Heath, England, Mallett moved to Rhodesia with his family in 1956 when he was only six weeks old, and his father, Tony Mallett, took up a post as an English teacher at the recently founded Peterhouse Boys' School, in Marandellas near Salisbury. Nick first arrived in Cape Town, South Africa in 1963, when his father was appointed Headmaster of Diocesan College, after which he attended St. Andrew's College, Grahamstown.
