Simon Taylor (born 13 December 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played two games for Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1989. He was recruited from the Montmorency Football Club in the Diamond Valley Football League. After being delisted by Collingwood, he returned to Montmorency before being drafted by with the 30th selection in the 1992 Pre-season Draft. Montmorency Football Club
Montmorency Football Club is an Australian rules football club in Montmorency, Victoria, currently competing in Division 1 in the Northern Football League. History The club was formed in 1924 by Harold Hodgson and was original based at Memorial park, Greensborough. In 1925 the club relocated to its current home and joined the Diamond Valley Football League where it competed until 1931 before going into recess. The Club was revived in 1936 and returned to the DVFL where it has remained ever since. Montmorency won its first premiership in 1951 followed by a second premiership in 1954. It was then another 22 years before the club won its third premiership in 1976. After grand final defeats in 1977 and 1978 the club won its fourth and most recent A Grade premiership in 1979. The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. It consists of seven senior men's and women's divisions ranging from Premier to Division 4. In addition there are U19's sections and five Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in.
