Simon Mayo
Simon Andrew Hicks Mayo (born 21 September 1958) is an English radio presenter and author who worked for BBC Radio from 1982 until 2022. Mayo has presented across three BBC stations for extended periods. From 1986 to 2001 he worked for Radio 1, including a five-year stint on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show. From 2001 he presented on BBC Radio 5 Live: from his debut until 2009 on a daily afternoon programme, and since then until 2022 with ''Kermode and Mayo's Film Review'' on Fridays. Between January 2010 to December 2018 he was the presenter of ''Simon Mayo Drivetime'' on BBC Radio 2, for the final six months with co-host Jo Whiley. Since March 2021, Simon Mayo Drivetime has returned on Greatest Hits Radio. Simon Mayo Drivetime
''Simon Mayo Drivetime'', is the incarnation of the drivetime show on BBC Radio 2 between 11 January 2010 and 4 May 2018, being revived briefly for Mayo's final show with the station on 21 December that year, and then fully from 15 March 2021 on Greatest Hits Radio. It is broadcast on weekdays from 16:00 to 19:00 in the United Kingdom. It is presented by broadcaster Simon Mayo, who originally moved to BBC Radio 2's drivetime from his weekday afternoon show on BBC Radio 5 Live after Chris Evans moved to take over the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. On 10 January 2018, the BBC announced that Jo Whiley would become Mayo's co-host from 14 May. The drivetime show would also be extended to 8pm (being cut back an hour to make room for Tony Blackburn's Golden Hour every Friday from 7pm.) Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. Arden Academy (formerly Arden School) is a ten form entry (from 2015) mixed comprehensive secondary school with academy status It was re-designated as an 11-18 school in September 2008. Morning zoo is a format of morning radio show common to English-language radio broadcasting. The name is derived from the wackiness and zaniness of the activities, segments, and overall personality of the show and its hosts. The morning zoo concept and name is most often deployed on Top 40 (CHR) radio stations. Johnny Beerling
John William Beerling (born 12 April 1937) is a British radio producer and station controller. Early life Beerling attended the Sir Roger Manwood's School in Sandwich, Kent. Career National Service He began his radio career during national service from 1955 to 1957, when he ran a radio station for the Royal Air Force station British Forces Aden in the Aden Protectorate, acting as its station manager, studio engineer and morning DJ. BBC In 1957, he joined the BBC as a Technical Operator and soon became a Studio Manager. Dennis McCarthy MBE (7 May 1933 – 10 January 1996) was a British radio presenter. McCarthy was a decorator, washing-machine salesman and dog-breeder before joining BBC Radio Nottingham shortly after it opened in 1968, following an interview about taking part in the Crufts dog show that caught the attention of station bosses. He broadcast five days a week with ''Afternoon Special'', networked to BBC Radio Leicester, BBC Radio Derby and BBC Radio Lincolnshire in 1980. ''The Sunday Show'' presented with his daughter Tara, now a barrister, attracted one-in-six of the Nottinghamshire population as listeners. Seaside Hospital Radio
Seaside Hospital Radio (known until 2004 as Radio Southlands) is a Hospital Radio service broadcasting to both Worthing and Southlands Hospitals in West Sussex, England from a studio site in Shoreham by Sea. The hospitals are considered to be one working hospital, however healthcare services operate between the two. The station is a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association and is also a registered charity in the UK, number 297515. Worthing High School (England)
Worthing High School is a secondary school with academy status located in Worthing, West Sussex. It caters for academic years 7-11 (ages 11–16) and has over 950 students on roll. History The school has its origins as the Bedford Row Pupil teacher centre, a private school for girls, in January 1905. Within two years, it also took school leavers other than pupil teachers. The school was taken over by the local council in 1909, moving to its current site in 1914.
