Simhasanam (1986 Film)
''Simhasanam'' () is a 1986 Indian Telugu-language epic historical film written, directed, edited, and produced by Krishna, who starred alongside Jaya Prada, Radha, and Mandakini. The film was simultaneously made in Hindi as '' Singhasan''. Based on a folklore tale, the film released on 21 March 1986. ''Simhasanam'' is the first 70 mm stereophonic sound film in Telugu cinema. Plot The kingdom of Dasarna has a brave and able army chief by the name of Vikrama Simha. Princess Alakananda Devi is in love with him. The chief minister contrives to dethrone the king and procure the throne for his son. But as long as Vikrama Singha is present, his plans cannot bear fruit. So he traps Vikrama Singha by getting false witnesses to testify that he has tried to kill the princess. Vikrama Simha is exiled. Krishna (Telugu Actor)
Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy (31 May 1943 – 15 November 2022), known mononymously as Krishna, was an Indian actor, director and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. In a film career spanning five decades, he starred in more than 350 films in a variety of roles. He is referred to as "Superstar" in the Telugu states, Telugu media. In 2009, the government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Cinema of India, Indian cinema. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Indian National Congress, Congress party in 1989. In 1997, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South in addition to Honorary doctorate from Andhra University in 2008. He died on 15 November 2022 due to cardiac arrest. Tadepalli Lakshmi Kantha Rao (16 November 1923 – 22 March 2009) was an Indian actor and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. Regarded as one of the finest method actors, Rao starred in more than four hundred feature films in a variety of genres including mythological, social and folklore. He has also acted in a few Hindi, Kannada, Tamil language, Tamil, and Malayalam movies. He has produced about five films under the Hyma Films banner. In the 1960s, he was one of the primary actors in Telugu cinema, along with N. T. Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Hogenakkal is a hamlet in the Pennagaram taluk of Dharmapuri district, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
