Silverchair Songs
Silverchair were an Australian rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Newcastle, New South Wales, with Ben Gillies on drums, Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars, and Chris Joannou on bass guitar. The group got their big break in mid-1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS TV show ''Nomad'' and ABC radio station Triple J. The band was signed by Murmur and were successful in Australia and internationally. Silverchair have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Silverchair have won more ARIA Music Awards than any other artist in history, earning 21 wins from 49 nominations. They also received six APRA Awards, with Johns winning three songwriting awards in 2008. "Freak" is a 1997 song by Australian rock band Silverchair, released as the first single from their second album, ''Freak Show'' (1997). The song reached number one on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart, Silverchair's second single to do so after " Tomorrow" in 1994. "Tomorrow" is a song by Australian rock band Silverchair, which was released on 16 September 1994 on their debut extended play album, also titled ''Tomorrow''. The song was later released on ''Frogstomp'', the band's debut studio album, in 1995. Written by lead singer and guitarist Daniel Johns and drummer Ben Gillies, it was produced and engineered by Phil McKellar at the national radio station Triple J's studios for SBS-TV's show, ''Nomad'', which aired on 16 June 1994. ''Young Modern'' is the fifth and final studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released on 31 March 2007 and co-produced by Daniel Johns and Nick Launay. The title comes from a nickname given to Daniel Johns by composer Van Dyke Parks. The tracks " Straight Lines", " Reflections of a Sound", "If You Keep Losing Sleep" and " Mind Reader" were released as singles. ''Diorama'' is the fourth studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair, released on 31 March 2002 by Atlantic/Eleven. It won the 2002 ARIA Music Award for Best Group and Best Rock Album. The album was co-produced by Daniel Johns and David Bottrill. While Bottrill had worked on albums for a variety of other bands, ''Diorama'' marked the first production credit for lead singer Johns. ''Frogstomp'' is the debut studio album by Australian alternative rock band Silverchair. It was released on 27 March 1995, when the band members were only 15 years of age, by record label Murmur. The album features the band's commercially most successful single, " Tomorrow". Recording ''Frogstomp'' was recorded in nine days. When asked if the record was made live in the studio, singer and guitarist Daniel Johns said: Yeah, that's the thing that I do really like about that album – it sounds exactly like we sounded.
