Silent Action
''Silent Action'' ( it, La polizia accusa: il Servizio Segreto uccide, lit=The Police Accuse... The Secret Service Kills) is a 1975 Italian ''poliziottesco'' film directed by Sergio Martino. The film's plot alludes to the Golpe Borghese, a failed Italian 1970 coup d'état. Plot Three army officials are murdered but made to look as if they committed suicide. After wealthy master electrician Salvatore Chiarotti is found dead, three policemen—Inspector Giorgio Solmi, Lt. Luigi Caprara and Office De Luca—investigate. Solmi and Caprara visit retired madam "Baronessa" Isidora Grimani, who has connections to Chiarotti, and when they discover she's running a brothel out of her estate, they offer her immunity for information. They go to interrogate Chiarotti's last visitor, Giuliana Raimondi—AKA "la Tunisina"—only to find she's attempted suicide. At the hospital, they tell her she's the prime suspect and she admits guilt. Sergio Martino
Sergio Martino (born 19 July 1938) is an Italian film director and producer, notable for his contributions to the giallo genre. Martino is the brother of the late producer Luciano Martino (who died in 2013). They collaborated frequently in their respective professions. Their grandfather was director Gennaro Righelli. Sergio Martino worked for both the big screen as well as for Italian television where he does most of his current work. He often worked with actress Edwige Fenech who in the 1970s was married to his brother Luciano. He also worked with many genre actors such as George Hilton (actor), George Hilton (who was married to Sergio's cousin), Anita Strindberg, Ivan Rassimov and Claudio Cassinelli, as well as famed Italian screenwriter Ernesto Gastaldi. Paola Tedesco (born 28 March 1952) is an Italian actress, voice actress and singer. Biography Born in Rome, the daughter of voice actor and tenor Sergio Tedesco and the younger sister of film producer Maurizio Tedesco, Paola Tedesco made her film debut at the age of 12, chosen by Pier Paolo Pasolini to play Salome in '' The Gospel According to St. Matthew'' (1964). After a long hiatus and a few minor roles (including Rosaline in the 1968 film '' Romeo and Juliet''), she resurfaced in 1971, playing the title role in the Mario Amendola's musicarello ''Lady Barbara''. Poliziotteschi Films
Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Euro-crime'', ''Italo-crime'', ''spaghetti crime films'', or simply ''Italian crime films''. Influenced by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films, poliziotteschi films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and increasing Italian crime rates. The films generally featured graphic and brutal violence, organized crime, car chases, vigilantism, heists, gunfights, and corruption up to the highest levels. Arturo Dominici
Arturo Dominici (2 January 1916 – 7 September 1992) was an Italian film, television and voice actor. Biography Born in Palermo, Dominici became best known for his many villainous roles in horror and fantasy films. He is best remembered for his performance as the monstrous Igor Javuto in Mario Bava's ''Black Sunday (1960 film), Black Sunday'' (1960) and the evil Eurysteus in the 1958 Steve Reeves epic ''Hercules (1958 film), Hercules''. His filmography includes more than 80 titles, including Antonio Margheriti's ''Castle of Blood'' (1964), in which he appeared with ''Black Sunday'' star Barbara Steele. Dominici dubbed the voice of Austrian actor Walter Ladengast in the Italian release version of Werner Herzog's ''Nosferatu the Vampyre'' (1979). Dominici's daughter, Germana, is an Italian stage actress; at the age of 14 she had a small role as a farm girl in ''Black Sunday''. Claudio Gora, '' Emilio Giordana '' (27 July 1913 – 13 March 1998) was an Italian actor and film director. He was particularly prolific, making some 155 appearances in film and television over nearly 60 years (from 1939 to 1997).
