Sigurd Lagerman
Vice Admiral Albert Hugo Sigurd Lagerman (11 January 1904 – 9 March 1970) was a Swedish Navy officer. Lagerman served as Commanding Admiral of Naval Command South (1958–1961) and was Chief of the Royal Swedish Naval Materiel Administration (1963–1968). Early life Lagerman was born on 11 January 1904 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Albert Lagerman and his wife Thérese Olsson. He passed ''studentexamen'' in 1922 and entered the Royal Swedish Naval Academy the same year, from which he graduated in 1925 and was commissioned as an officer. Career Military career Lagerman's mathematical talent and technical disposition gave a natural focus to the artillery service. Skeppsholmen Church
The Skeppsholmen Church ( sv, Skeppsholmskyrkan) is a former church on the islet of Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden. History Named after its location, the church was built 1823-1849 to replace a minor wooden church on Blasieholmen destroyed in the devastating fire of 1822. Inaugurated by King Charles XIV John on 24 July 1842 and still officially carrying his name, it was designed by the architect Fredrik Blom as a neoclassical octahedral temple inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, borrowing the coffered ceiling while substituting the oculus for the temple-shaped lantern light. On all sides, the plain white walls restored in 1998 are pierced by portals whose four pillars support semi-circular lunettes. Inside the cruciform exterior, the interior sheet of the wooden double cupola is supported by paired doric columns and rounded arches. Carl Wilhelm Wilhelmson (12 November 1866, Fiskebäckskil – 24 September 1928, Gothenburg) was a Swedish painter, graphic artist, amateur photographer and art teacher. Biography His father, Anders Wilhelmson, was a "Bästeman" (a type of Naval Master), who died in a shipwreck in 1875. His mother, Amalia, opened a small shop to support the family. Some relatives were in the printing business so, in 1881, he was apprenticed to the lithographers Meyer & Köster in Gothenburg. He also took evening classes at the School of Design and Crafts. He later became a full-time student of Carl Larsson at the Valand Academy. In 1888, on the recommendation of Larsson and his former employers, he was awarded a scholarship from the Kommerskollegium that enabled him to travel to Leipzig. While there, he worked for several notable lithography firms. Despite this, he remained undecided as to whether he should pursue a career in lithography or strike out on his own as an artist.
