Signs Of Life (Billy Squier Album)
''Signs of Life'' is the fourth studio album by American musician Billy Squier. It was co-produced by Meat Loaf's songwriter Jim Steinman, replacing Reinhold Mack, who had produced Squier's previous two records, ''Don't Say No'' (1981) and ''Emotions in Motion'' (1982). Commercial and critical reception ''Signs of Life'' became Squier's third-in-a-row platinum selling record. It was his highest new entry, at #61, on the ''Billboard'' album chart (also the peak of his next offering). The disc spent nearly a year in the charts, reaching #11. It made the Top 10 in Cash Box. The album's best known song, "Rock Me Tonite", was his best charting Pop hit and second #1 single in the Mainstream Rock charts. William Haislip Squier (, born May 12, 1950) is an American rock musician and singer who had a string of arena rock and crossover hits in the early 1980s. Jeff Golub
Jeff Golub (April 15, 1955 – January 1, 2015) was an American jazz guitarist who had a solo career and who led the band Avenue Blue. He worked as a sideman for a number of rock and pop musicians. He was arguably best known for his work with Rod Stewart 1988-95. Career Golub was born in Copley Township, Ohio, near Akron. He grew up listening to pop music, rock, blues, funk, and R&B. In the 1970s, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. 1980, he moved to New York city, and worked for rock guitarist Billy Squier. During the 1980s and '90s, he worked as a sideman for Ashford & Simpson, Tina Turner, John Waite, Dar Williams, Vanessa Williams, and Peter Wolf. 1988–95, he recorded and toured with Rod Stewart. Kent Music Report
The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, ''Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974. David Kent later published Australian charts from 1940 to 1973 in a retrospective fashion, using state by state chart data obtained from various Australian radio stations. John Van Hamersveld
John Van Hamersveld (born September 1, 1941, Baltimore, Maryland, United States) is an American graphic artist and illustrator who designed record jackets for pop and psychedelic bands from the 1960s onward. Among the 300 albums are the covers of '' Magical Mystery Tour'' by the Beatles, '' Crown of Creation'' by Jefferson Airplane, '' Exile on Main Street'' by the Rolling Stones, and '' Hotter Than Hell'' by Kiss. His first major assignment, in 1963, was designing the poster for the surf film '' The Endless Summer'', after which he served as Capitol Records' head of design from 1965 to 1968. During that time, he worked on the artwork for albums by Capitol artists such as the Beatles and the Beach Boys. George Marino
George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. In 1967, Marino landed his first job in the industry as a librarian and assistant at Capitol Studios. Tony Platt is an English sound engineer and record producer, best known for his work with a diverse mix of artists, including, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Bob Marley, Iron Maiden, Shy, Buddy Guy, Foreigner, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sparks, Jazz Jamaica All Stars, Lillian Axe, The Boomtown Rats, Motörhead and Testament. Brian Harold May (born 19 July 1947) is an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and astrophysicist, who achieved worldwide fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen (band), Queen. Rory Dodd (born Port Dover, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian rock vocalist who has performed many songs written by Jim Steinman. He is probably best known for singing as the duet voice (the "Turn around, bright eyes" lyrics) on Bonnie Tyler's version of "Total Eclipse of the Heart", a number 1 hit on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Dodd performed the backing vocals for many of Meat Loaf's songs. Eric Lee Troyer (born 10 April 1949) is an American keyboardist, singer, songwriter, and occasional guitarist, best known as a member of ELO Part II and its successor The Orchestra. Troyer was a founding member of ELO Part II, having been recruited by band leader Bev Bevan in 1988. He wrote a substantial quantity of the material on ELO Part II's three albums: '' Electric Light Orchestra Part Two''; '' Moment of Truth''; and ''One Night'', a live album recorded in Australia.
