Siddipet is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. It is a municipality and serves as the headquarters of Siddipet district. It is located about north of the state capital, Hyderabad, and from Warangal. The District Headquarters and police Commissionerate is located at Siddipet City. Siddipet is a major urban hub and educational centre for the nearby Towns and villages . It is governed by Siddipet Municipality and is the headquarters of the Siddipet district. The city is named for the African Siddi people of India; ''Siddi'' + ''pet'' (market), who had a historical presence in the Hyderabad State.
