Shrewsbury High School is a public high school located in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only public high school in the Shrewsbury Public Schools district. It is a large school offering a wide variety of electives and extracurricular activities. Shrewsbury High School placed 27th in the list of 21,035 high schools that ''U.S News'' reviewed in 2013. The current principal is Todd Bazydlo. Shrewsbury High School is part of Shrewsbury Public Schools, the current superintendent of which is Dr. Joseph Sawyer. History The current campus, located on top of a hill on Holden Street, opened in 2002 with a capacity of 1,400 students, though enrollment has increased to 1835 students as of October 2021. Shrewsbury (/ˈʃruzberi/ ''SHROOZ-bury'') is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. Shrewsbury, unlike the surrounding towns of Grafton, Millbury, Westborough, Northborough, Boylston, and West Boylston did not become a mill town or farming village; most of its 19th-century growth was due to its proximity to Worcester and visitors to Lake Quinsigamond. Hanover High School is a public school located in Hanover, Massachusetts, United States. It encompasses grades 9–12. Hanover High is a continuation for Hanover Middle School, and before that either Center School or Cedar School. The original Hanover High School building was opened in 1958. The first graduating class was 1959. Sylvester School formerly served as the high school. The current Hanover High School building was opened in 2011. Hanover's colors are blue and gold, and their mascot is the Hawks. Until 2021, HHS's mascot was the Indians, and was changed to the Hawks, thanks to a contest that won against 400 submissions.
