Joe Santos (born Joseph John Minieri Jr.; June 9, 1931 – March 18, 2016) was an American film and television actor, best known as Sgt. Dennis Becker (later Lieutenant), the friend of James Garner's character on the NBC crime drama ''The Rockford Files''. Early years Santos was born in Brooklyn on June 9, 1931, the same day his father died. His mother Rose (née Sarno), sold olive oil and eventually became a nightclub owner and singer in New York City and Havana. She later married Puerto Rican-born Daniel Santos, and Joe took his name. Santos was a football player at Fordham University, and even turned semi-pro, before finding a new avenue in acting. Ibsen Dana Elcar (October 10, 1927 – June 6, 2005) was an American television and film character actor. He appeared in about 40 films as well as on the 1980s and 1990s television series ''MacGyver'' as Peter Thornton, MacGyver's immediate supervisor at the Phoenix Foundation. David Edward Leslie Hemmings (18 November 1941 – 3 December 2003) was an English actor and director. Stephen Katz (4 July 1946 – 18 October 2005) was an American teacher and screenwriter. Katz wrote several television episodes and three feature-length films during his career. Following a move to Plano, Texas in 1993, Katz taught a communications class at Plano East Senior High School until his death in 2005. Tony Mordente (born December 3, 1935) is an American dancer, choreographer, actor, and television director. Career Born in New York City, Mordente attended the High School of Performing Arts and made his professional dance debut at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts. Soon after he joined the ballet company at Radio City Music Hall, where he was discovered by Michael Kidd, who cast him in the 1956 Broadway musical adaptation of the Al Capp comic strip ''Li'l Abner''.
