''Shorter, Faster, Louder'' is the second album by the Philadelphia hardcore punk band Kid Dynamite. Their final album, it was released in 2000 by Jade Tree. CMJ New Music Report
CMJ Holdings Corp. is a music events and online media company, originally founded in 1978, which ran a website, hosted an annual festival in New York City, and published two magazines, ''CMJ New Music Monthly'' and ''CMJ New Music Report''. The company folded around 2017, but was bought by Amazing Radio in 2019 who will bring back the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, along with other new live and live-streamed offerings. The letters CMJ originally stood for ''College Media Journal'' but was also often considered short for ''College Music Journal''. Dave Hause
Dave Hause (born March 12, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter. He currently performs both solo and with his band The Mermaid. His music draws from heartland rock, folk rock and punk rock. He has also played in multiple Philadelphia, PA area punk and hardcore bands, including The Loved Ones and The Falcon. Music and career 1990 to 2003: Early years and The Curse In the mid-90s, Hause played guitar in a Philadelphia-based hardcore/punk band called Step Ahead, who released one album. After they broke up, Hause and Brendan Hill, the drummer from Step Ahead, formed The Curse. The Curse, which featured Hause on guitar and sharing vocals, released two songs on the four-way split album '' The Philadelphia Sound'' and released a six-track EP on Hell Bent Records before playing their last show on April 12, 2003 opening for Kid Dynamite. Drum
The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments. In the Hornbostel-Sachs classification system, it is a membranophone. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. A plectrum or individual finger picks may also be used to strike the strings. The sound of the guitar is projected either acoustically, by means of a resonant chamber on the instrument, or amplified by an electronic pickup and an amplifier. Dan Yemin
Daniel Yemin is an American vocalist and musician in the melodic hardcore punk scene. He played guitar in the early 1990s with the band Lifetime, and in the late 1990s with Kid Dynamite. Yemin also played in Resurrection (sic). Since 2001, he has been the vocalist of Jade Tree Records hardcore band Paint It Black, and still plays guitar in Lifetime, who reformed in late 2005. He also plays bass in Armalite, a band fronted by Adam Goren whose debut album is available through No Idea Records. Additionally, he recently started a new band called Open City with fellow Paint It Black member Andy Nelson and Bridge and Tunnel guitarist Rachel Rubino in Philadelphia. They released their self-titled debut in January 2017. Yemin grew up in Westfield, New Jersey. After Kid Dynamite broke up in 2000, Yemin suffered a stroke. Singing is the act of creating musical sounds with the voice. A person who sings is called a singer, artist or vocalist (in jazz and/or popular music). Jason Shevchuk
Jason Shevchuk is an American singer and guitarist for the band None More Black. None More Black announced an indefinite hiatus in 2007 but later regrouped. On May 20, 2008, None More Black announced that they were back with a singular show scheduled for July 4, 2008, in Philadelphia. He is the former singer for Kid Dynamite and singer and guitarist for LaGrecia. Before Kid Dynamite, he was the vocalist for screamo band "Bound." Shevchuk became the vocalist of Kid Dynamite after winning an audition with his melodic yet abrasive voice and catchy "whoa-whoa-whoas". He left Kid Dynamite in 2000 to pursue film editing work. His first film, Ghetto Venue, was about the recently closed Philadelphia club Stalag 13. He still edits film and has worked on music videos with None More Black and other bands, such as The Loved Ones.
