Pacific Coliseum
Pacific Coliseum, known to locals as "The Coliseum" or the "Rink on Renfrew," is an indoor arena located at Hastings Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. Its main use has been for ice hockey and the arena has been the home for several ice hockey teams. The arena was the home of the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL), from 2001 to 2016. Other hockey tenants of the Pacific Coliseum have been the Vancouver Canucks (Western Hockey League) from 1968 to 1970, Vancouver Canucks (National Hockey League) from 1970 to 1995, the Vancouver Nats (WHL) from 1972 to 1973, the Vancouver Blazers (World Hockey Association) from 1973 to 1975, and the Vancouver Voodoo (Roller Hockey International) from 1994 to 1995. Blake Skjellerup
Blake Skjellerup (born 13 June 1985 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a short track speed skater who competed for New Zealand at the 2010 Winter Olympics; finishing sixteenth. Sporting career Skjellerup began speed skating at the age of 10 in Christchurch after an injury from roller blading forced him to stop playing rugby union for a season. His brother introduced him to speed skating to keep him active. Blake quickly took to the sport and began spending as much time as he could in skates. In short track Blake had found not only has passion but something that he was good at. In his career he has won five New Zealand national titles and broken numerous national records throughout his career. Skjellerup currently holds 3 New Zealand individual records in the 500, 1000, 1500 meter event, and 1 record in the 5000m men's relay. Ruslan Albertovich Zakharov (russian: Руслан Альбертович Захаров; born 24 March 1987) is a Russian athlete in short track and speed skater. Career Zakharov competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics for Russia. In the 500 metres and 1000 metres, he placed fourth in his round one heat, failing to advance, and in the 1500 metres, he placed sixth, also failing to advance. His best overall finish was in the 500, where he placed 27th. As of 2013, Zakharov's best performance at the World Championships came in 2008, when placed 8th in the 1500 metres. Paul Herrmann (born November 16, 1985 in Dresden) is a German short-track speed-skater. Herrmann competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics for Germany. In the 1000 metres he placed third in his opening heat, and in the 1500 metres, he placed sixth in the opening round, both timesfailing to advance. As a member of the German 5000 metre relay team, he finished 3rd in the semifinal and 2nd in the B Final, ending up 5th overall.
