The shooting competitions at the 2000 Summer Olympics were carried out at the Sydney International Shooting Centre in Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia during the first week of the Games, from Saturday 16 September 2000 to Saturday 23 September 2000. Shooting At The 1996 Summer Olympics
The shooting competitions at the 1996 Summer Olympics took place at the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex near Atlanta, United States. Competitions were held in men's events and women's events. For men's and women's double trap, it was the first Olympic competition, a women's shotgun event also had been added. In addition, the number of targets in trap and skeet had been reduced from 200 to 125, and the final rules for all events were changed so that any post-final ties would be broken by shoot-offs, as opposed to the previous rule that preferred the shooter with worse qualification score and better final score. Tanyu Kiryakov ( bg, Таню Киряков, born 2 March 1963) is a Bulgarian pistol shooter, the first shooter to have won Olympic gold medals in both the 50 metre pistol event and the 10 metre air pistol event, in which he was also the first Olympic champion. Fehaid Al Deehani
Fahad Al-Deehani ( ar, فهيد الديحاني, born October 11, 1966) is a Kuwaiti professional target shooter and officer in the Kuwaiti military. He was born in Kuwait City. Olympic career Al-Deehani won a bronze medal for the men's double trap shooting event at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and won another bronze for the men's Olympic trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Al-Deehani competed as an " independent Olympic athlete" because Kuwait was banned from the Olympics by the IOC. Al-Deehani called for the resignation of Kuwaiti officials responsible for the IOC ban, but refused to carry the Olympic flag in the 2016 Olympic opening ceremonies. Al-Deehani defeated Italian Marco Innocenti in the gold medal match of the men's double trap, becoming the first independent athlete to win a gold medal. Russell Andrew Mark, (born 25 February 1964 in Hoppers Crossing, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian Olympic Champion Shooter. He won the Olympic gold medal in double trap at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He also won an Olympic silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He has competed at six Olympic Games: 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012. The only Australian Summer Olympian to compete in more Olympiads is Andrew Hoy, who competed in seven. Richard Faulds
Richard Bruce Faulds MBE (born 16 March 1977 in Guildford, Surrey), is a retired English sport shooter, who competed for Great Britain in the 2000 Summer Olympics and won the men's double trap. He also competed at the 1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Born into a family who then ran a stud farm in Sussex, Faulds was then raised on the family-owned Owl's Lodge Farm in the Hampshire village of Longparish. On his tenth birthday, Faulds's father Bruce bought him some shooting lessons, with Richard hitting 17 out of 25 clays in his first attempt. His father built him a range on the family farm, but just before finishing third in his first world junior championship, his PE teacher said that his hand–eye co-ordination was very poor. Giovanni Pellielo (born 11 January 1970) is an Italian sport shooter. Ian R Peel (born 18 January 1958 in Skipton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire, England is a sport shooter who has represented Great Britain in the Summer Olympic Games on three occasions. Sport shooting career Peel first appeared at the Olympics in the 1988 Games in Seoul where he finished 25th in the mixed trap event. Michael Diamond (sport Shooter)
Michael Constantine Diamond, OAM (born 20 May 1972) is a professional target shooter from Australia. Career Diamond was introduced to sport shooting at the age of eight by his father, Con, who was a sporting shooter and managed a gun club. Mastering the shotgun, Diamond succeeded in winning the Olympic gold medal for trap consecutively in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000, becoming the second men's trap shooter to have done so.
