Shooting At The 1996 Summer Olympics
The shooting competitions at the 1996 Summer Olympics took place at the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex near Atlanta, United States. Competitions were held in men's events and women's events. For men's and women's double trap, it was the first Olympic competition, a women's shotgun event also had been added. In addition, the number of targets in trap and skeet had been reduced from 200 to 125, and the final rules for all events were changed so that any post-final ties would be broken by shoot-offs, as opposed to the previous rule that preferred the shooter with worse qualification score and better final score. Shooting At The 1992 Summer Olympics
The shooting competitions at the 1992 Summer Olympics took place at a shooting range complex in Mollet del Vallès outside Barcelona, Spain. Competitions were held in a total of thirteen events — seven men's events, four women's events, and two events open to both genders. It was the first time a woman (Zhang Shan in the skeet competition) took a gold medal in such an open event, and also the last time they were held. It was also the first games for 10 metre running target, which replaced 50 metre running target on the Olympic program, as well as the first games with the new targets in all rifle and pistol events except 50 metre pistol, leading to numerous automatic Olympic records. The shooting events at the 1992 Olympics mark the first time that Independent Olympic Participants (from Yugoslavia after their country was suspended), competing under the Olympic flag, have won medals in any sport at any Olympic competition. Wang Yifu
Wang Yifu (, born December 4, 1960 in Liaoyang, Liaoning) is a male Chinese pistol shooter, and in terms of Olympic medals one of the most successful sport shooters of all times, and was the first shooter with six individual Olympic medals. He specializes in the 50 m Pistol and 10 m Air Pistol events. He is the only shooter to have won two gold medals in men's 10 metre air pistol. Wang won his first Olympic medal in the Los Angeles games at the age of 23. After this, the Air Pistol event was added to the program, and this is where he has achieved his greatest accomplishments. Miroslav Januš (born 9 August 1972 in Postupice, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech sport shooter. A four-time Olympian (1992 to 2004), Janus is one of Czech Republic's most successful individual shooters in Olympic history, having won a bronze medal in the 10 m running target at Atlanta 1996. Outside his Olympic career, Janus has produced a career record of 120 medals in a major international competition, including fourteen golds at the European Championships, and a total of ten in different color at the Worlds since his debut came as a junior in 1989. Andrea Benelli (born 28 June 1960) is a retired Italian skeet shooter. He competed at the 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and won a gold medal in 2004 and a bronze in 1996.
